Can anybody tell me from this picture weather or not my head has the "water jacket hump?"
I'm planning on ordering a new head gasket this weekend, and my instincts tell me no, but what exactly is this water jacket?
thanks in advance, I'm sorry if this is a dumb question;-)
I noticed your siren isn't the military one, but an older federal....is it a model 28, or a CL?
Just curious, have a Model 28 in both of our powerwagons, sorry to hijack the thread here....
+1
If it was for more than around town, I wouldn't suggest it as a daily driver. BUT, I have heard of people replacing the rear ends to make them go 55 easily on the highway. If you want to use the truck for this purpose, I'd say put lock-out hubs in the front, makes it an easier driving...

Darn...I have the answer for you, but its at home in my M37 tech manual...:?
There is a picture in there with the specific explanations for it. Maybe somebody could look it up in theirs for you
I agree thanks for sharing!
Even with my truck not being on the road, I get comments and people stopping saying they used to drive them...the old buck down the street is especially excited by it, hopefully I can get it on the road this summer and take him out. Guy across the street used to use...
I'm with you, I hate the see cool old trucks like this sitting around rotting...
As for the manuals, I know it takes a little $$ (about $50), but I got mine on ebay, and it really is a WEALTH of information.
The filters should be relatively easy to come by, I usually replace mine every other...
I'v lost brakes in a 5 ton dump before, was REALLY scary. Lucky for me however, I was on a back road with a chase vehicle behind me. You got lucky, I'm glad to see that nobody including yourself was hurt!
