If you use a battery equalizer with a 50 amp rating, 12V lamps can be used in parallel and no worries about ruining batteries or one failure leaving you in the dark.

    Military Radio Stuff for I.D.

I had to go back and edit, the connector looked funny and it turned out to be useless! (unless you want a keychain)

    Military Radio Stuff for I.D.

The top one is a terminator. The North Hills RT000578 you show there is special, 78 ohm terminator (P/N RT500078 ) is 2 watt, 1% tolerance designed for a MIL-STD-1553 data bus. It has a MINIATURE PL75 TYPE 3 LUG BAYONET PLUG and not a common BNC connector. It cannot be used as a load for the...

    centrifuge.....

I visited Alfa-Laval once to work on a videoconference system. I got a short tour of the shop. They get centrifuges in from fast food companies like mcdonalds that are 'broken'.. the centrifuges are used to clean the french fries oil for re0use. Alfa-Laval cleans out the thousands of maggots...

    Accelerator stop bolt

the fuel feed lever stops before the bolt is hit. If you notice, there is a point before the bolt is hit, where the tension increases. That's the stop, and beyong that, you are just pulling on a spring.

    Engine oil level

RE: Oil Level I've found that cold, the oil reads apparently 1-2 quarts high ("K") as stated above, but the 1-minute test gives a close enough to correct "hot" result. I suppose it takes much more time to totally empty the filters.

    Engine problem

Could yo have a blown exhaust manifold gasket, a sticking/burnt exhaust valve, or like was suggested, a bad injector? It could be worth it to set the RPM up a bit to where it makes the noise well, and crack open each injector line one at a time and see which one (if any) changes the tone of the...

Re: RE: K3TZJ Here Hello Doghead, Please join us ham radio operators! The Technician license is the easiest one to get, it is -very- easy! You can then use the PRC-25, 77, RT-524. 256, and other radios that work above 30MHz. Like the next post said, it's not an exclusove thing at all, it's...

Ham Radio Operators / Steel Soldiers

Re: Ham Radio Those are real good points! I love the GRC-106, except the darn external fan sounds like a vacuum cleaner. I wonder if it would be reasonable to do a mod to adjust its speed based on internal temperature. I also got one of the USB/LSB filter kits that the Japanese fellow was...

    Tow bar stowage (sorta)

That towbar looks too pretty to use! Nice job of mounting it. Mine's lying on the floor in the S-280 shelter. Need to build up a set of brackets or something for that and the antenna masts.

My Horny Deuce ( and fix the turbo oil leak )

Today I got off my butt and replaced the leaking gasket between the turbo oil outlet and the oil return tube. It was not as hard as I thought, and getting at it required the removal of the slobber hose, flame heater spray nozzle, and fuel/brake vent tube. Then the metal draft tube was able to be...

Ham Radio Operators / Steel Soldiers

Here are some small signal corps tags that can be superimposed on avatars. I have an amateur Extra these days, it was not too difficult. I hear the questions will soon be upgraded to encompass more modern concepts (types of digital encoding, etc), so get the highest ticket you can now unless...
