I was shocked that my old looking M151 blower actually worked when i hooked it up... (high and low).
It's still pretty loud, but it seems to be all "air pushing" noise to me (if you understand that).
The actual electric motor is quiet enough (being in the cab). And it does move a lot of air...
I was shocked that it took almost ALL of the 15' of hose. The last few inches made a perfect grommet in the firewall for hose protection.
I used a LOT of zip ties and snugged it everything up good.
I turned my shut off valves in opposing directions, so when they face opposite directions when...
Today, I installed my "in cab" heater.
Got it all wired up (with its own circuit breaker and proper military connectors).
Mounted under the dash like the A3, connected my hot water lines with "in-line" shut off valves, so i can shut the hot water off (for summer, or a core leak).
I did...
Installed my Curt 15400 (all by myself). I made a wood cradle to put on a floor jack, only had to jack it up a couple of inches. It went very smooth.
My 24v NATO 12 pin to 12v civy converter should show up tomorrow.
With my 8" drop hitch, the ball is about 22" off the ground.
So, I'm almost set...
WOW... the hitch arrived about an hour ago (that is some FAST shipping).
It's HUGE and it looks AWESOME.
Great welds, powder coat looks nice, not too much shipping rash.
9/16" grade 8 hardware. It's going to be really fun installing (by myself).
I'll make a wooden cradle to balance on a floor...
I got a phone call this morning from the place i ordered my Curt 15530 hitch from.
They said they replaced the 15530 with the 15400. It's rated 17,000lb with 2550lb TW. (still 2" but looks WAY beefier). I'll wait for the bill to see if they jacked up the price to match.
The 15530 was $185.
The...
Wow.... nice looking set up.
I went ahead and ordered the Curt 15530 (still $185 with free shipping), and found an 8" drop hitch i had from another vehicle.
I still hope that's enough drop (with 395s).
I ordered a 24v to 12v military to civilian trailer connector, so i should be good to go.
I understand, I think i've seen someone post about a 6" drop (with NDTs) worked ok, but was that 9x20 or 11x20.
Thats where my question was to how much drop "with 395s". Still searching, just not finding.
I'm in a bind... I need to put a civy receiver on the deuce to haul hay for Dad, before he gets injured using his little 1/2 ton to haul 10,000lb loads of hay. ( I plan to use the curt #___, with 15k rating)
My problem is...
I'm looking to see if a 10" drop hitch will be enough ?? (with 395's)...
I keep 2 each 20" 6x6 blocks and a couple of 2x6s (nailed together) for wheel chocks (and to put under a bottle jack).
Just square 6x6's tossed between one of the rears (with 395s) works for me, flat ground with parking brake.
I have the thicker 3" aluminum flex tube from Lewe's, I'll give it a shot first, with some hand made adapters.
(better than nothing)
Thanks for all the help.
Question:
Will it loose too much flow or "effective pressure" if i use full 3" ducting. (fan to dash)
Or would 2" and 2.5" ducting be more effective and make modifications at the top. (windshield difuser)
(would it make any real difference at all?)
Sorry about the old post.
I'm working up some defrost duct connections to a M151 heater.
Has anyone made the 2" and a 2.5" diverter box outlets "mate up" to a 3" duct?
I've looked at plumbing and dust collection system connections, but looks like i'm about to
be welding up some soup cans or something "crafty"...
