Looks much better. I'm tempted to do mine but I know with all the junk I store and bring to shows in the back of the deuce, it would be a matter of months before it looked the same again.
If any of those NDT tires are any good, save them if they are not too much $$$. That size and pattern haven't been made for a long time and 10-ton owners go nuts trying to find them.
Not sure if anyone would be interested in attending, but this is a military vehicle (a rather LARGE one)...
Every year the USS Torsk Submarine museum in Baltimore MD has a work weekend to perform regular maintenance on the boat, and install new parts for the boat's restoration. Lots of work...
Thanks for the heads up on that - there is a lot of the original Burma jeep still there, the big deal is the rear bomb hoist and gear. Someone save it!
Yank the engine and drop a Cummins 4BTA or a Chevy 350 in there. The stock engine is great when it works fine and has low miles on it. When it wears out, don't bother rebuilding it or replacing it with same engine, upgrade.
Ugh, offroading out and getting towed back. Well, at least we figured out a problem with it that can be corrected for Cabell, I guess.
Only took a few pics, busy enjoying myself there instead of snapping.
What I have for sale is listing in the classifieds, if anyone needs anything I'll throw it in the trailer.
Hope to see a lot of Steel Soldiers there, Gilbert is always a great show! I'll be set up on the East end of the fairgrounds again with SrJeeper in the Vietnam display.
Sorry to hear so many can't make it this year - combination of bad luck on some folks, and the economy which is really killing a lot of folk's spare cash reserves. It's not just our hobby, it's everywhere, especially any hobby that involves a lot of burning gasoline or diesel.
Will be pulling...
I'll be there Saturday and most of Friday, but not in the deuce again - can't afford to get it up and running for the rally. Will have to ride along with some others who have wheels.
