Putting larger tires on the deuce using stock rims...

NDT's of the same size and tread depth will go better overall off road, (As long as tread design is for this type of driving!) directional tires will go better in one direction, while not doing so good in the other direction. Where the larger tires such as the 395's shine is in ground...

Hats off to career deuce drivers!

Are you saying with a little practice he can cut the wire in half?rofl I backed my M105 into a drive that was a 90* turn for the first time. It was a pain, I used to do it (25-30 years ago!) with a deuce 6x6 all the time, I don't remember it being that hard back than.:driver:

    1100rX20 XL Michelin

I measured mine the other day only to find out that they were just about 1/2" wider than the 9.00's both mounted, aired up on stock rims, but off the truck. (So no weight on them!) 9.00's are 10 1/4" wide, tread is 8" wide, height is 40.4" the 11.00's are 10 3/4" wide with a tread width of 8...

Any one used a Pribbs M105a3 for there bobbed Deuce

The amount you remove from the rear of the frame depends on what you want. If you want to reinstall the bumperetts, or add a step bumper, that can mean a difference of a foot and a half or more. Also do you want to place the spare under the bed, or in a space left between the bed and cab. You...

Looks like a surgeon doing the afternoon operation even had medical gloves.:-D

What did you do to your deuce this week?

My deuce most have been angry at me, as it had a flat tire this morning. I spent about an hour and a half removing, breaking down, patching, putting it all back together, only to realize I mounted the tire for the driver side instead of the passenger side. It will have to do, as I am too old to...

    Winter/Summer tires

Chains are allowed here in Ohio but only during certain conditions, and of course winter only! (As is studded tires. I think it is Nov. 15th through April 1st.) I have 7 Michelin XL's on stock wheels, but want to keep the two on my M105 trailer, so yes just 5 that I would consider selling. I...

    Truck needs saved!

I know where an old N/T Multi-fuel is that had the front axle stolen some 12-15 years ago. Bed had holes in the side a man could slide his hand through, a lot of rust pretty much on every part, rag top and seats rotted. It sets in the woods. I tried to buy it about 6-7 years ago, while it was...

    Winter/Summer tires

They're the Michelin XL's! I suppose that could be a possibility goldwing. But if I sell them, I hope to get more than enough to buy chains.:-D

Putting larger tires on the deuce using stock rims...

Many here run wide tires such as the 14.00's and 395's on the stock rims. I would not! As you are sure to get tire roll over much easier on a narrow rim like the stock one. I would never go less than 10-11 inches wide on the wheel for that wide a tire. Many years ago, it was practiced to keep...

    fuller ten speed

If you had a M36 frame, (The one that came with a 17' bed!) I'd say probably, but any thing shorter and you will run out of room in a hurry. That Fuller 10 is pretty big by itself. You could very easily double the frame for height, and the M36 is plenty long enough, but you will still more than...

    WMO and smoke

Have you cleaned the air cleaner lately? A clogged/dirty air cleaner will cause the truck to smoke, as it is not getting enough air to burn the fuel, sending unburnt fuel up the stack! (Like when a diesel lags, it smokes more!)

Why list an item with no price?

I agree with a lot said here. Pictures should be MANDATORY for any web ad. (Not just this web site!) When the classifies section is revamped, maybe location, price, and photo can be a required field. Without those three pieces of information, the ad can not be completed. There is an ad in...

    Bobbed Deuce weight!

Couple things I forgot to mention! Hardtop, custom rear step bumper (That weighs 280 LB.) and custom Reese style receiver. Oh, and mud flaps with my name:jumpin:

    Winter/Summer tires

Thanks for the reply! I see chains for the 11.00's really cheap all the time, but don't recall seeing those for the 395's. I am hoping to find a good deal or several at the Lima show, and or Haspin. (Tires/wheels, chains and whatnot.)

    Winter/Summer tires

I am having Paul (Ridgerunner) fabricate a 4" drop spring lift for my Bobbed deuce, and will be getting a set of 395's and they will be mounted on hemmit wheels most likely. My question to other 2 1/2 ton truck owners (And anyone else that wants to chime in!) If you did not have the need to...

    air impact wrench

I'd say pretty much all of us has done it at least once. As for the IR 1/2" impact, I have one, not sure the model, but it is at least 15 Y/O, and it will not break loose the lugs on my 2500HD Silverado, even with a huge air supply. (The 1" Earthquake don't even get warmed up.)

    Bobbed Deuce weight!

I had my deuce weighed today out of curiosity, (Seeing that I had to get my M105 weighed for license.) It is an M35A2 W/W and 11.00 20's on stock wheels, bows, and racks, but no cover on the M105 bed. Weight was 11,340 LB. (The truck had no spare, and maybe 5/8 tank of fuel.) The M105 with...

    air impact wrench

Either way, that is a huge tank! Mine is just 80 gal. but runs 200 PSI at 10 CFM. I would like to have a tank that size, but it would have to be 1/2" grade 60 steel to hold those pressures. (I am guessing on the numbers, but it would be heavy!)

Grease nipples for the tail gate

Not to sure how well a grease zerk will do on the pivot point, to work properly it would need spiral vains cut in to the zerk channel. If you try it, please let us know how it works!
