I am looking for HEMMT wheels (five of them!) and 395x85x20" tires in excellent condition. Preferably 90% or better. Michelin's or Good Year's, makes no difference to me.
I have the bolt in centers for the HEMMT wheels, so no pre-made deuce wheels, but centers laser cut would be fine, other...
When I did mine, I went with about 50/50. It really depends on spring travel/flex/compression.
I used the logic that the front spring pack (With the bottom 3 smallest leafs removed.) would never compress or travel more then the distance the shocks can.
And looking at the clean line on the...
I disagree with that, and always have. If there were not two sides to every story, it would not be a story. Opinions are like A-holes, just about everybody has one.
I am not saying that we should go out of our way to cause trouble, but anything posted regardless of what section is open to...
I'd say a bobbed M35 is as close to or closer to a deuce than an stock M35.
You start with a Deuce and a half, remove 2,000+# (My truck lost closer to 2,400# and that was with bigger tires!) and it becomes a deuce or near one. A stock one is NOT a deuce, even though that is what most of us call...
Your truck looks awesome. Thanks for taking the time to share the pictures.
I really wish I had done the cut down stock bed, instead of the M105 trailer bed.
Then I went and sold the bed, bumperettes, pintle, and some other things so now I would have to buy everything to do it.
I also want...
to each his own, but you are talking another $800 bucks with one set of lockers, and two sets of lockouts.
I would never weld up the axles on a road worthy truck. If I were building it for off road ONLY, then yes, even then I would weld up the rears, and a locker on the front!
All the 465's have the same specs However there are, or at one time were different sizes that worked with the multi-fuel engine.
The size that are standard are called N-50, When stationed at Ft. Leonard wood I had the great privilege to meet and become real good friends with a retired Chief...
If the batteries are toast, than yes that can cause it to not start with a jump, also you may check for a broken cable or burnt up slave receptical.
But before cranking it over under power, I'd first turn it over by hand, and listen for any abnormal sound coming from the engine.
These trucks...
Kip;
You better not run off without Michael and I, or I won't spend anymore of my hard earned money at your farm. HAHA! It gets pretty expensive going over your place.
I didn't hear from you over the weekend, so I guess the rain dampened your plans!
Thanks everyone!
He is sitting on the seat in the first picture. :-P
My son loves Military vehicles so much I think he would live in one.
He loves helping on every aspect of fixing it up as well.
I used staples (A couple hundred total!) On the passenger side the cover was in very good condition, but the padding/springs were shot, so for extra durability I reupholstered with the original covers using the grommets and new parachute string than covered that with the new camouflage covering...
I with a lot of help from my 12 year old son
Sergeant Lucas
got the passenger seat done the seat received 4" of firm foam rubber cushion, and the back got 2"
1st picture is of the finished seat, 2nd one is of Sergeant Lucas proudly standing with out bobbed Deuce.
This was my first ever...
At just 134 HP the truck should be an older 3/4 ton, or 1 ton crew cab long bed as the weigh much less than the newer one, so the lack of power would not be as noticeable. However if a pickup chassis is used you would probably need to go with a 4x2 or use a double stacked frame to allow room for...
There is a huge difference between hauling 27,000 lbs, and having that weight dropped onto it.
Tires will give out before anything else, brake fade will is a big problem as well.
I moved M60's around the concrete motor pool area with an M35A2, but that don't mean you can tow 60+ ton down the...
Very, very sweet truck!
I just have one small complaint with it.
Why not fab up the running board to be on long one, instead of having that huge gap? I think that would improve the look tremendously.
Just an opinion. Other than that it is great.
Might you be going to Haspin? And if so...
