War is $$$
Sell them our old outdated equipment (F16/C were built in 1985....)
and make sure they don't get "the good stuff" (so we never have a problem shooting them down).
If we have to fight against our own equipment, we also know how to disable them.
Just like us training the Taliban...
It just makes a better target....
As much as we gave them and trained them to defend themselves.. first chance they get, they cry and run away.
Now I am hearing they want MORE support and arms from us, and WHY aren't we giving them the help we should....
Been there, done that...
Let them kill...
I pass on everything if someone says they have another offer... Realtors pull that crap, and its fun to see them "back peddle".
Especially on something that has been sitting for a while, then "all of the sudden" there are other offers.. no thanks.
to be fair, I COULD have gone with a pulled out motor for much less.
I could have had a buddy put it in for me for a few bucks and some drinks...
(but I've seen my "buddies" mechanical skills, so I rented a lift and did it myself, with a depot rebuild engine)
The mechanics are low tech, stuff is...
trust me... that's not how I wanted to do it either...
but you can never be sure...
it may look GREAT, and never even make it home.
I was very frustrated, and after finding out that something had been "fixed" and then
"fixed again".... and all. I didn't want to "fix" it again. I just bit my...
I have over $9K invested in mine...
paid $5500, spent about $4000 to get a new engine in it...
I will never get out near what I have invested...
but its for "me".. some people buy one, make it pretty and try to get $20-50,000 or MORE on it....
CRAZY.
I may spend another $5000 to get wheels...
I would keep looking. Take some time and look at a few and compare them...
I would personally spend a little more money and feel better about getting one that will start cold without much effort,
with some kind of top and feel better that mice haven't eaten all the wires out from under the...
Sounds good to me, look it over good. See what the oil on the dip stick looks like, run it between your fingers good and see if it feels slick or sticky.
If you know mechanical or can have someone who does to look it over.
I had a nice "walk around", preflight check. I did a little clean up on some wiring in the engine bay, switched a couple of plugs on my tail lights, so my brake and running lights are now correct.
I didn't have good brake lights without air in the system, still not 100%. Question... does an air...
Yep, I was shocked at how much all those "little extras" cost.... then a couple of new battery cables built, and a fuel hose...
but "better safe than sorry".
and "nothing but the GOOD stuff"... (wow.. chaCHING)
Merlot, when you get a chance, where did you get your tires/wheels?
I'm over in Granbury and looking to get some (now that I've recovered from the engine replacement... uggg..)
What did you figure out for your valve stems?
How about some pics.
Thanks
Starting my research... my tail and brake light wires are reversed, looking to identify one from the other.
My tail lights are VERY bright, but the stop and turn lights are barely visible when running lights are on.
