As patracy suggested, twin sticking it would get you to where you want to be. More specific control over what is happening in your transfercase, with the side effect that less complicated mechanisms will give you more "directly coupled" feeling to the actual t-case detents.
I did/I am [thumbzup]. However I needed to buy the parts for the snorkel so I could scan them for the full CAD mock-up, so I could make sure everything was going to fit in the final construction.
About as much as an ARB snorkel kit retail price. I paid...
Top-Spin H002433: $176
PSD10 D100031: $380
I'm fabricating my own piping, material cost is around $50... also it requires a HUGE hole in the passenger fender.
Maintenance items:
PSD10 Primary Filter P608676: $75
PSD10 Safety Filter...
And if you do, good luck starting the engine again...
I'm building a snorkel based on two Donaldson parts:
PSD10 Air filter (second from right) =
TopSpin Pre-cleaner (second from left) =
The Top-Spin pre-cleaner ejects most of the large sand sized stuff before it even gets into the...
It is also my practice now to pull past the accident by several fire-truck lengths, rather than behind it. When I exit the vehicle I become the "Spotter" for the people I am talking to (since I'm less likely to be rattled), and if they are out of the vehicle I have them step well away from the...
I'd at least spend some time thinking about the failure modes possible by adding parts to the system: Air lines burst or get cut, what happens? Check valve gets stuck open from one half, what happens? Governor fails to stop the compressor at high-pressure, what happens? As a general rule...
I dug a little and found this thread that has a good diagram.
If you are duplicating the air system is there any way you can duplicate the compressor too? If not you might be able to find a dual cylinder air compressor where each cylinder matches the original compressor CFM and split the...
Not sure how "correct" you want to keep your air system if you're adding a tank or two...
I am a fan of the modern air system desings, a "wet" tank before the other tanks seems like the way to go (AirCompressor-->AirDryer-->"WetTank"-->OtherTanks). I also like the 95psi cracking pressure check...
Less bump/roll-steer than stock, with a lift less stress on the steering gear - I recommend a steering damper on the cross tie-rod no matter what with tires that big, AND make sure your kingpin bearings and rod ends are in good shape or you will likely get the "death wobble" when you hit your...
I think you inadvertently found a golden nugget there - they have the MIL-Spec listed on their site. That's really what you want, as it eliminates guesswork.
The pertinent details regarding weight I gather from MIL-PRF-32002D Notice 1 "COVER MATERIAL, VEHICLE, COATED TACTICAL AND COMBAT...
In my experince, it's either too big (larger than 63.9kB), or there was something funky with the file names (make sure no spaces or other "special" characters)
Like playing with plumbing in an old building, touch one thing two things break, and then the fun begins :).
I believe the "electrical thing" in the picture you posted in the fuel heater - your location says Georgia... You may or may not want that part - may if you see cold below 0°F, may not...
For the record, the wife would like acknowledged:
"...I have been a very patient wife. I have tollerated the Bus, the Toyota pick-up, the servers, the workstations, long hours away at work, the XM1027 project, giving up on hobbies I liked, you..."
So I think my interest in keeping her happy...
I recently had the opportunity to view/touch an older M923 tan vinyl cover, while I had my AHH sample nearby. It's my believe that this is the same material. The thickness felt the same, but I noticed that the stiffness of the M923 cover was harder than the sample I have.
Chalk it up to aging...
My name is Tim, I have a problem... I'm addicted to ToughBooks (more evidence here ).
I recently picked up 5 docking stations for CF-19Mk3, convertible ToughBooks, and a pair of CF-19Mk3's. Each seat is getting its own...
GamberJohnson makes the military mount for this model, and...
Yes, there should be at least one ground strap from the block to the frame - otherwise it will ground opportunisticly through mounts, u-joints, mufflers, braided hoses... anything that will carry current.
A key term to remember is: "path of least resistance," you want a good cable at least the...
You read the rest of that post right? (like the third sentence... ;))
To 2nd what MarcusOReallyus is saying, bigger isn't always better - if all of your circuits were 350MCM, you wouldn't have much vehicle payload left, all of the suspension margin would be used for lugging around copper...
