Does anyone know whether or not a cargo cover kit for an M35A2 can be fitted onto an M35A3C that has drop sides? Thanks! OFD

    Finally Got It!!!

Karl, thanks for the comment. I am going to leave the CTIS on the truck for now, but I am leery of the problems it has. It seems to work fine now, but it may be contributing to the leakage in my left rear tire. We'll see.

    Finally Got It!!!

my69camaro, Actually, I think the A2s have more pep. I maxed the truck at around 52mph. A cousin of mine drove an A2 in the Guard. He said he could get that truck to go 65. From what I hear, the A3 is a workhorse in varied conditions, not so much of a "road" truck.

Billy Bobbed...Thanks! I mostly hear Allisons are reliable. The fire dept. I volunteered with would have all kinds of problems with the trucks, but never one had a transmission problem. All the trucks had Allisons. I guess you can get a lemon...hopefully mine is not.

    Finally Got It!!!

Chieftawny, I actually found it in the SS classifieds. A guy in Shiloh, OH was selling it. The pics looked good, so I went out there to see it and the rest was history. The best thing to do to get a nicer truck is have the money set aside and wait until a good one comes up. It may take a day...

mooresM35A2 Sounds like a purring CAT (sorry, had to say that) She runs smooth and revs up even smoother. Sweet!

    Finally Got It!!!

Heavysteven, thanks! I am looking forward to using it. Just got my temporary tag (still have to xfer the title) today, so I will be driving it again. As time goes on, I will do paint touch ups, add a cargo cover & bows, and a hard top. I will keep you guys posted.

    Finally Got It!!!

Thanks! I hear ya lonegunman...The truck seems so huge when I am driving it. You just feel its power. When I was driving the truck back home, I was going about 45-50 in a 55 zone. Everybody kept their distance. If I had of driven like that in my not-so-big car, I would have gotten run off the...

    Finally Got It!!!

Thanks! The A2 is really a classic. It has the roar of an older model Diesel and yeah, there is a lot of shifting involved. Fun to drive...

    Finally Got It!!!

Thanks! I've heard that about the CTIS. I hear turning it off can sometimes fix a tire deflation problem.

    Finally Got It!!!

Thanks! It handles really well. Air power steering is great and she stays in line while driving. No play in the steering at all.

    Finally Got It!!!

Thanks! It maxes out at around 50 mph, so I would say no, since most A2s go up to 55 to 60.

    Finally Got It!!!

Yep, totally right. I swear that I could not get the truck to go any faster than 50 or 51 w/o sending the RPMs over 2700.

    Finally Got It!!!

I finally got my deuce. It's a 1998 M35A3C and it's in great condition. Only problem is the right rear tire loses air pretty fast. Otherwise, it's great! :-D

Eventual Deuce Pickup in SD Need Driving Help

Hey, I am getting a deuce refurbished in South Dakota. I live in NE Ohio near Cleveland. I want to fly out to South Dakota and pick up the Deuce. I expect to have the truck by mid November. Anyone interested in going out with me to help me drive back to Ohio? I will pay the airfare and for...

What are you paying for a m35a3????

You think the prices could come down later this year? Seems like GL has been auctioning a lot more trucks lately than I've seen in the past several months. Thanks, Dave
