I'm thinking my rough idle problem and that leaking fuel filter base were connected. I haven't experienced the low idle and stalling on warm starts.
I also think the truck has more power. It shifted up to 3rd on a hill that it didn't used to do.
I have a few more projects to get out of the...
Finally have the truck out of the garage. I tackled the kingpins and fixed my fuel filter leak by replacing the fuel filter assembly.
It no longer leaks but I still have a death wobble. The old tires are the last thing we need to replace to fix that.
When I towed mine from Seattle to LA, I removed the rear drive shaft and duct taped a pair of rubber gloves over the 205 output shaft. I left the steering wheel unlocked. Towed pretty well.
Had I known what I was dealing with here, I might've used some different words. :)
Thank you for the assistance. I think I would be still trying to get that slide in.
Ok. When in doubt, look at the other side. :)
Now, that slide is not wanting to go back on. The caliper is in place but is just doesn't want to go. I needed a few minutes to let it cool off. Probably try again tomorrow.
Was excited how easy the Dana 60 is to work on. But the brakes....
Well, I have my king pin replacement almost completed. I thought I would change the brakes while I'm there.
When I pulled off the inside pad, a clip flew out.
I think that was the anti rattle clip but I don't know where it goes. Does it go on the bottom? Does it go on the pad itself or does...
Ok. So it's been quite a while since I've done much other than to drive it around and find/fix issues.
My latest has been chasing down the severe death wobble. I was having a few compounding issues. At first it was when the road was a bit uneven (not often in LA but it still happens) and it...
Are you using 4" or 6" of lift with the movement forward? Do you ever stuff the tires in the fenders or just mostly stay on the street?
I'm thinking of 37s but didn't want to cut the fenders.
Do you see white smoke when this happens? Had this happen once and it turned out to be a bad injector pump. It was a LOT of white smoke and wouldn't rev high.
