RAPCO 686 TAN CARC substitute. Rapco is awesome, btw. I think from the time I ordered to the time my paint arrived was 4 days total, UPS ground.
I might try wetsanding the hood a little, its just kinda dry in spots. You can can see the spray "pattern". I'll drive it for a week or 2 and see...
Leaves you with a really sore fingertip... But the result is nice!
The hood I'm not 100% happy with, may do that again. The paint was flashing a little too quick. Since it was in rattle cans, kinda hard to control the mix. Also didn't help that I was working outside. Overall though, 100%...
My oil pressure is ~70 psi idle when cold, warmed up 40psi idle, 60 at speed. 60k miles for reference.
I removed the dummy light sender for the temp gauge. Its located on the side of driver side head near the front, just behind the alternator. Almost even with the glow plugs.
As I understand it, its for removing plugs with swollen tips. You can't really get a good grip on them to pull them out, without breaking the tip off. The tool above works to pull the plug out, without breaking the tip off.
Of course, you could always just loosen it, then crank the motor...
Gonna be painting my 09 this weekend. First, I have to say WOW to Rapcoparts.com. I ordered 2 cases of rattle cans on Wednesday afternoon. I received them (via UPS ground!) on Monday afternoon. Thats amazing!
So, questions. I'm going with 686 tan, a desert storm scheme. The CARC on there...
Its possible that the seal between the TC and Tranny is bad, and your fluid is migrating into the transmission. It generally happens the other way, but...
Also, its possible that someone else got the same advice you got and filled it with only 2.8 pints..
That doesn't seem right to me at all...
Are you sure you don't mean quarts? I have a leaky rear seal on my TC, I put my finger in the fill hole and could barely touch the fluid, so I added more. It took just under a quart to fill it to the bottom of the fill hole...
I was browsing for photos today and came across this album online. There are over 100 pictures in there.. Talk about a BAD day... One of us??

I don't know the belt's age. It is the belt that came on it out of the military. I checked the voltage and I am getting ~28v at idle from the pass. alt. I guess the first thing then would be to replace the belt. I guess I should just replace them all anyway. None of them look bad, but who...
I looked at all the threads in search, and didn't find anything that really fits my issue, so I thought I'd ask the collective mind here and see what y'all think.
I took my '09 on its first "big" trip. About 200 miles each way, with an overall elevation gain of ~10,000'. First, it ran GREAT...
