    Cab bow problems

Hey Guys, thanks for the inputs. I had to come home to VA after my leave ran out, so I haven't had a chance to mess with it anymore. My Dad is getting the top repaired, so when that is done I'm sure he will mess with it somemore.

    Is it CJ-5 or M38A1?

I have a M38A1, It had the battery tray under the hood added later, when they went to 12v, as the rest of the jeep is all M38A1. They pulled the Mil motor and rebuilt it with civy parts. The engine looks civy, but the double pulley on the crank is a dead giveaway. The problem is the...

    Weatherstipping Source

As much as I hate to say it, JC Whitney has alot of standard weatherstripping you can get, but then you would have to cut to length and glue it together. It's not hard, and it is fairly cheap. I did it with the rear door on my school bus. Just my 2cents

    Picking up M35 from GL

All was going well for me to drive off base until that building jumped out infront of me! Got a letter from the Army last week. They want me to pay for the building repairs after all. aua Sad thing is, it would only take a couple of 2X4s, one 4X8 sheet of plywood, some of that thin...

Progress on the -725, ready for assembly

RE: Re: RE: Progress on the -725, ready for assembly If you can get the rig to Norfolk, I have a blaster and a really good compressor at the railyard. We blasted and painted 2 engines and 4 cars in there this past summer. The black beauty was almost 8in thick on the floor when we were done! I...

    Cab bow problems

Hey Jon, I did drill the new holes, but even with that I have to bend the bar forward to get the bow to fit between them, and then the windshield side won't stay in due to the tension and will pop out. I'm about ready to pull out the mig welder.... aua If the bar was about an inch forward, I...

    Cab bow problems

Can someone help me? I have a soft top, and when we got the truck it was missing the bows. The cab top is the insulated type, and it has the two bars over the back of the cab, one higher and father forward of the other. I ordered 3 bows from Saturn, and 3 from TNJ. Both sets are the...

    What fuel?

ACE, Cranetruck, My truck has 'diesel fuel only' stenciled on the fuel tank. Can I assume it has been modified for diesel only? The engine in my truck is a spanking fresh rebuild- no oil anywhere, and a lot of new bolts in the tranny, oil pan, and pretty much everywhere in the drivetrain. If it...

    Big Dumb Trailer ...more pics

I think a way to disconnect the trailer drive on the fly would be a good and safe idea. I like the idea of the powered trailer! Much to do when I'm free of the Navy and out in the middle of nowhere....

    When Multi?

Would a horizontal exhaust still ford as well? (just don't shut off the engine...) Also, did they change to the vertical to help keep exhaust fumes out of the bed full of GIs? I would like to put a horizontal exhaust on mine, especially if it is quieter.

    Hydraulic power unit?

I had an old jaws of life power unit that probably would have done it- small diesel yanmar. It wouldn't have been fast, but I bet it would have done the job. I still have the pump, but stole the engine for my welder/gen. I like the idea of it charging batteries and such, but then your power...

    Wild deuces

I saw a dumpster full of M35 parts one time, but was of course not allowed to go dumpster diving, much less look in it! What a shame! I was told it would take too long for the DRMO to sort and count everything, so in the dumpter it went! Doors, fenders, winshield frames, tailgates, bed bow...
