There have to be trucks in your area neighborhood that pull campers and have a bigger GVW than that. I live on a farm in the country and it's getting harder to even keep old farm machinery around with out someone saying something.
We use to sell out calves every year in Mitchel, always enjoyed the drive out there. I seen on the news that they called out the national guard down close to your home because of the snow.
I've done this on our older diesel farm non computerized tractors. If there is any ill effects it might be changing the fuel filter more, but I really haven't noticed it.

That's normal, RPM's are to low, or it's just the nature of your gen. If you put a different generator in your truck it might not do it, nothing to worry about. Even alternators need a certain rpm in order to kick it into charging.
