Keith and Don,
I've been thinking along Keith's line of thought but have an opportunity to "supersize" so have adjusted my thoughts. Now new info and I'm curious.
I have an old outdoor walk-in freezer 8x12 from my store which likely won't sell as I close the store. So I plan to bring it...
I didn't realize you were searching for marks when I posted. Just thought you had a thing about rust on your flywheel. A technique I use is to paint the 180 out position on the starter side (reverse of the flywheel) once I've located the marks. Makes it easier to confirm I'm where I thought I...
I've spent many a night in a CP tent in Germany with these dudes. They are great so long as you know what you are doing with them. I'd NEVER mount one on a wall.

I have a MEP-002a intake manifold in good -excellent condition from the parts unit I've been trying to rescue. Gave up on it yesterday. $40 plus shipping from VA. E-mail me if interested. The rest of the unit will find its way to the classifieds by Monday or Tuesday. Pictures on request...
Thanks Ken,
I don't intend to. I wonder how the 60-80% works when the unit is rated at 80% at 15kw at 8000' or whatever elevation. here at sea level it must take quite a load to satisfy it. More that we are likely to require unless a heat pump was involved.

Ken and sewerzuk,
now i'm following you. ken, your example went from 75 to 44 kw. that's comparable to the 15 to 9 kw de-rating on the mep004a. just out of curiosity, if one were willing to accept the de-rating, would it hurt the unit for it to operate in single phase as continuous backup...

now i begin to understand your goal (after re-reading your original post) I guess balanced load is key to keep the unit from burning up. Can you run indefinitely on 120 single phase? FROM THAT SINGLE PHASE OPERATION CAN YOU GET 2 LEGS TO FEED A 220/240v BREAKER ON A NORMAL HOUSE...
Peter,
Not to call you out.......But as I recall, you use MEP-004a single phase routinely as your backup power and I would love to know how and what amps you get from yours. This is an interesting thread. I turned down a mint 004a at Richmond last year because I was afraid of it.

I figured Keith had stock in Berryman so I had my wife pick up 2 cans at Walmart today. 15oz for $2.99. I looked at Advance yesterday and it was over $4. I'll try it on injectors and see how it does, also on the IP control lever. The lever on my "new" 002a is all gummed up.
