The ole' girl has seen better days for sure. Taking the good parts and scrapping her out is probably the best route. But in the mean time, I would hate to think she might end up as an I-beam in a Dubai or Chinese skyscraper.
What a great place for a good book, take in a classic movie or just some good ole' reflection and contemplation. When we were kids we climbed one of the neighborhood trees. Wished I had a Deuce to climb in.
Welcome to to the site and to the 5T fraternity. Go big, I always say[thumbzup]. Your M54 is quite a "purdy" lady. I like my 800 series, but there's just something about those ole' "flat grilles" that gets one's heart a-stirrin'. Treat her kind...
Thanks for the input WM. The selector valve is history and the fuel supply line is getting replaced straight from the left tank to the filter. I am taking the right tank out of service. My long range goal is to mount a tool/storage box in its place.
Bump
I already have new fuel line from the filter to the IP. I just received some new 1/2" inch hose and 1/2" and 3/8" brass press-on fittings. I am replacing everything back to the tank including the return line. What the the best way to seal the threads...is Teflon tape or pipe dope good...
My 818 is continuously losing prime and it's driving me nuts. I had to limp back to storage yard today at 15-20 MPH. Luckily it was only a couple of miles.
I am in the process of bypassing the notorious "spider" (fuel tank selector) valveaua and going single tank. I pulled a couple of the...
Good to hear all's well that ends well. Crazy how thing just give up when they decide to.
If you ever see Mr. Peterbilt again, let him know a proper military honor should be rendered to your old war horse rather than his disrespectful one finger salute. I "bet a dollar to donuts" your deuce...
Lego so totally rocks. Been building Lego for over 35 years. My Grandmother would travel to Europe every year and bring home new sets for all us kids. I owe my mechanical mindedness to those good ole' days. I just ordered my son (me) one of the Lego Technic Front Loaders. Can't wait to build it.
The one on the right looks to be an 813 alright with the normal 11.00-20 NDT's. But, the body appears to be that of a bridging truck. Note the side overhang over rear duals and beefy steel construction.
It's Sunday afternoon on a drill weekend and "Top" is ready for final formation. Let's go home. DOH:doh:.
Which model of truck was this "error" found on? If its an 809 series what is the fuel line size?
Good job fellas!
I have Historic Vehicle plates and as far as I am concerned, I am always going to a show. If you park it a Home Depot, for instance, is someone looking at it? My guess is yes. Then it is at a "show". L.A. traffic is always like being in a "parade"...two speeds...slow and stop.
I was watching this M813 for few days. The auction ended a little while ago. Looks like a real beauty[thumbzup]. Anybody here lay claim to her now??
