    Hannibal makes his first show

Will, New fuel and new filter made all the difference. The fuel looked like green mud. We flushed the right tank with some clean fuel prior to filling up. Ran strong there and back. I didn't really open it up though due to the short distance. we do plan to pull the left tank and get it properly...

    Hannibal makes his first show

Thanks! I painted the shackles flat black before I had purchased a case of 686 Sand rattle-Cans. The hood hold downs came from McMaster -Carr as is and I didn't care to paint them. I like the black on tan look. Soft top stayed up due to the ole' time deficit thing. But, yes, I agree it was a...

    Hannibal makes his first show

Wearing a new name badge, straight stacked and looking quite dapper, Hannibal appeared at his first car show. The show was the Culver City (CA) Car Show put on by custom car creator George Barris (Batmobile, Munster Mobile, etc. fame) himself. We entered the show grounds flying Old Glory and the...

Fun's Over in Bama, State Requires EPA/DOT Certificates of Conforminty

This is the kind of nonsense I expect out of California. BUT, so far, so good. My truck is tagged and plated "Historical". And, yes, as a matter of fact, I am (always) on the way to a car show/reenactment. If one person looks at it at Home Depot I would consider that "a car show". Whatever...

    1963 Diamond T, M51

I remember as a kid going to Mammoth Lakes, CA where there is a large popular ski resort. There was a couple of those M51 gasser dumps up there. I don't know if the ski resort , the city or the county owned them. They were bright yellow and had the rebuild fiberglass hoods (round fenders) on...

    Electrical - SAFETY!

I just installed a battery ground disconnect on my truck a week ago. I found a slightly used version of the one in the pic. Works very well. 'Off' is to either side and 'on' is center. It has a positive lock in any position. I hid it somewhere on the truck. While disconnecting the ground I...

New 809 series straight exhaust stack

I want to straight stack my truck. I could just cut off the curved portion of the existing stack , but I want the stack clear higher over the cab top. Does anyone know if the following item... JEGS 30613 JEGS Exhaust Tubing... will fit over the j-pipe as the original stack does. If not, any...

M809: Exhaust header to muffler bolt size/grade

I am going to be pulling out my muffler to do some welding repairs. The header to muffler inlet flange bolts appear to rusted pretty good. Does anyone know size and particularly the grade of bolts used to fastened the two parts together? Thanks in advance.

Air line caps for trailer brake

I have removed the trailer hand brake from my steering column on my M818. My problem now is capping the the open air fittings under the dash. I have found sites selling the all the brass air brake fittings, but I cannot locate any caps in the right thread size (works out to be 1/2-24). Any body...
