I love aviation gasket cement. I don't know that I can think of a reason to use RTV on a good sealing surface other than when you want to mate the parts without a gasket, and even then you don't need much.
Keeping the start switch in start for a maximum of 15 seconds until the unit is up to speed bypasses the low oil pressure switch. Otherwise it wont start.....it has no oil pressure until it gets up to speed. Watch my vid of me starting my 003 the first time. It dies several times when I let go...
Nevermind. I saw the above post. You have to be well over 30-40% tongue weight. You've got prolly 85% of the weight of that truck in front of your trailer axles, with 8000# of the truck 5 feet from your hitch, but I'm no expert by any means.
I love the sound of the "C", however it is just ungodly loud. I'm not talking about concerns going down the freeway. Sometimes I drive the truck to work.. I work second shift. When I come home I have to stop in a local gas station for a few minutes to cool things down. Otherwise that truck...
So true. I think one of the advantages of a place like Camp Dodge, other than it's a regional training facility for maintenance are that it's a relatively low volume site compared to others. I don't know that they truck in anything or not, but it seems a lot of the trucks are from the...
I guess there are locations that have fundamentally worse trucks than others. My truck from Camp Dodge had the turn in inspection report detailing everything they found wrong with it.
I got a deuce, a 105A2, and a MEP003 from there. There were all in good shape. By and large from what I hear, they are (the M35's) in decent shape for the most part. Pickups are Wednesdays only. SGT Birkenholtz is th POC, and he is great to work with.
Do yourself a favor and just do what I did. A 83" wide trailer will work with several inches on either side to spare. Of course, move it back a foot or so as compared to my pic. Voila 65MPH down the highway, smooth as butter.
My guess is it weighs a hell of a lot.My father in law used to get hay from a guy that had a converted F250 dually extended cab that pulled a 40' trailer with 300 small bales. That's a lot of weight, what prolly 20K plus trailer? That trailer sure looks a might bit bigger, maybe 40K?
I heard a small grunt. I think it might have been the central air kicking on, but it was barely noticeable. I'm more than impressed, I'm just dumbfounded.
I think point have been made that a person could get by with an 002, but if an 003 can be obtained just as easily, I would get the 003...
