Please fill in the gaps for me. I thought 9.00's were rated at around 5000#. The military tends to way under rate things, so it seems odd that the truck would be shy of being overweight by a couple of hundred pounds considering a couple of bubbas in the front seat would put in over, not to...
I'll check, I may have a used 24VDC coil. If I do, I'm sure I have a used valve I can send you. ASCO, DEMA among others make valves that will work, but they usually cost about $50 or so.
What size are you using, 1/4" ?
You don't know what you get unless you see in person. The hour meters mean nothing. They are replaced all the time. When looking in person, it's nice to see when "they" (space aliens) write on the part the date it was replaced, so you have an idea what has been done.
Right now is not much of a problem. They are off loading hundreds of them through GL. But that's the downside. Now you have hundreds of them that are going to need spare parts in the future, and where do those parts come from? They come from gensets that people are snagging up for parts, which...
Loud is relative. Mine gets MUCH louder without the covers on it. Maybe the ASK is just that quiet? And I don't know if I'd go out of my way to get one. They are nice, and much quieter, but a PITA to work around.
That seems in line with what they are going for. Hour meters don't mean a whole lot. The MEP003 is a fairly old genset. Don't be surprised if it was manufactured in the early to mid 80's.
Yours does not have the ASK enclosure on it. It will be loud, and rather loud.
I looked at the Suburbans, but they just didn't have the crispness of the S10's, and frankly the amenities were sparse. I wouldn't have traded my S10 for a Suburban anyway. That's a step down, almost like getting an H2.
I can't believe anyone would want to get rid of that gas guzzling, torque monster V6, and the refined European styling for anything else. I regret the day I got rid of mine, sort of like the first born leaving the home, or a baby raptor taking it's first flight.
As a matter of fact, I'm...
They started with the Tahoe as the basis for the design. They redesigned the frame and other components. Although it may not be a "Tahoe" per se, the idea started out as a Tahoe Platform and morphed into what it is now. It's much quicker (and much cheaper) to engineer a new product based on an...
