I have been working quite a bit on my M109A3 lately. It used to have a ground fault issue when i pluged it into land power but i got that fixed. the problem was one of the wires on the over head lights was frayed, so i fixed it and it works great now. It would only blow the GFI (located in the...
I have had a problem with my M109A3 with the lights that are operated with this switch. The problem is when the truck is plugged into a outlet that is not ground fault protected, it works fine. when i plug the truck into an outlet that has a GFI, it pops the GFI only when i turn the light switch...
I have repaired some of the 3 lever light switches before. it was just a bad solder joint. they really skimped on the solder in there, so i had all of the solder joints reflowed and cleaned up all the contacts with a little emery (spelling?) cloth. The way the truck is now, i cant get the right...
i see you are newer to the site, welcome...how many miles have you put on the truck before this happened? a little slower RPMS at road speed would be nice, but on the other hand, its big and heavy with little power... not going to go fast. i put 12,000 miles on mine in 2 years and i need all the...
oh there will be good that comes out of it, not sure how yet, but somehow. like to take the box off the M109, swap the winch and put a cargo box on the back. The M109 has an LDS! :D I would like to put the M109 Box on a trailer frame though. it would be more practical that way than on the...
"Right Stuff" made by permatex is a heck of a good gasket maker. i agree, i see the stuff abused sometimes and it looks horrible. i usually get the replacement gasket and put just a light light coat on both sides of the gasket, so hardly any squeezes out when you torque it down. i never had a...
i know, i dont want to see the truck go down either, but my M109 needed a fuel pump and i didnt want to put my other brand new pump in it when the new pump in my M35 was just going to sit there for who knows how long. the M109 need shocks too.... ugh... i dont like where this is headded. feel...
well i still dont know what direction i am going with the truck, but i did swap the in-tank fuel pumps with my M109.... the one in my M35A2 was a brand new one from olympic controls and had less than 1000 miles on it and the M109 pump was dead. As you can see in the picture, there are bits and...
I would love a wrecker! an M108 would be soooo handy! it stinks they are so rare.... you can get M816's all day long it seems. instead of finding another box, maybe i can shorten the front part that got wadded up and put a knuckle boom on there... a crane truck copy cat kind of thing but with a...
That would be awesome! leave it all banged up and put something on the bent up door, "IED disposal team" haha! im beginning to look around and see what is out there for parts trucks. I have to research how hard it will be to swap cabs and stuff... the steering column will be the tricky part...
dang it! i was actually thinking about that too and didnt think that would be about the same time frame. i dont even trust taking my plastic sled out! ill hit a tree for sure! maybe i could use my old hood from my truck as a sled to pull behind a snowmobile... that sounds like fun. haha! i could...
Thanks. Yea, i kicked its butt pretty good and took a rock as a hostage! Ill see if i can take more pics and post them. maybe this weekend when i get home so i have day light. at least i didnt have my cargo cover and bows on. the day before i was almost going to take the troop seats out just for...
what about the bushing shouldthat be in there too? i forget the exact name of it, but it seems like that might be worth taking a look at also. i believe the bushing is on the knuckle and the axle shaft spins on it.
i forgot to mention, i have about a 150lb rock on the box of the truck that fell off the rock face. good thing it didnt fall on my head. ill have to get a picture of it. i think its only right that i do something special with that rock... not sure what... but has to be something!
the drive home was only about 5 miles. i lost come coolant, but i dont think it was too bad. The engine still fires right up. to play with the thought of fixing it, i dont have a hoist or loader to lift the old cab up and off or even to put a new box on. hate to be messing with that heavy stuff...
I tried putting wax on it, but it just smeared and looked worse. Haha. So looks like i am looking for a cheap truck or keep my eyes open on GL... have to go preview it first...
yea, i know it sucks, but im not going to dwell on it forever. lessons learned, keep my head up and move on. I had full coverage and they totaled it. i bought the deuce back and used some of the money to pay my $2600 doctor bill from my broken leg where a deer ran into me on my motorcycle. so i...
Well i havent seen may deuces on this site look this bad. There was one where the dump trailer tipped over on it, the one where the guy was rear ended and of course, Gimp's epic deuce roll-over trick. This happed to mine when iw as driving it, went off the road just a LITTLE bit to meet a deep...
