    Balancing load between phases

I've got some old factory equipment electrical cabinets (I was going to strip them and use them for storage cabinets). They have in them current meters. It appears the meter works like one of those clamp on multimeters, the pickup is what appears to be a coil and the wire it's reading passes...

    Balancing load between phases

I'm working on getting my MEP 003 up and going and will at some point have it hooked up to my house and/or shop. I know the TM says to keep the load balanced with no more than 5% difference from one phase to the other. When you hook it up to your house panel, how to you keep the 120v loads...

Which tire fits 20 inch wheel

Yes, you can get radial tube-type tires that will fit the stock wheels. If you want to go to tubeless you'll have to find 22.5" wheels. 22.5" tubeless wheels to fit the M135 are rare.

    Farm mods for a Deuce

I've added a dump on mine and hauled hay, corn, and silage for the farm. I'm in the process of building another hog pen with no access to running water. I've got plans to turn a M49 1,000gal water tank into a skid tank. I'll load the tank in the back of the deuce to haul water to the hogs.

    Question about Deuce TMs

I checked once and think I got a quote of around 10 cents per page. I've found them cheaper watching ebay.

MEP 003 won't start, fuel solenoid not operating

Thanks for everybody that gave suggestions. I installed jumper wires from the battery to the solenoid and got nothing. I then worked the rod up and down several times by hand and then it started working when power was applied. Put everything back together and it fired right up. :-D Now on to...

    Repairing Jerry can Holes/Leaks Help

I can't believe nobody has brought up how dangerous it is applying any heat or open flame to a flammable liquid container. It can blow up and kill you (even if empty). It's actually safer to weld on a completely full gas or diesel can than it is to weld on a empty one. There are ways to safely...

    PTO cover plate interchange?

I'm 99.9% sure they are the same. The only reason it's not 100% is that I've never actually tried to swap them out but I've probably seen at least 100 6-bolt PTO covers and I've never seen one that wouldn't interchange. I've got a deuce trans sitting in the shop that has a cover that says...

    Front Axle not engaging?

Searls84 and Jeff are in agreement, y'all are just using different terminology and getting mixed up. :-D On every sprag deuce I've been in, the sprag didn't work right. I honestly don't know how good a working sprag is because I've never been in a deuce that worked (I have had 5-tons that the...

How much can a 5 ton tow?

I routinely haul 17-18 tons of lime on this truck. That gives me a gross weight of around 60,000lbs. It's slow but it handles the weight fine (it's a M936 chassis).

MEP 003 won't start, fuel solenoid not operating

The solenoid rod moves freely so I don't think it's sticking. Correct me if I'm wrong but the way I'm reading the wiring diagram is that you send power to the solenoid when you hit "start" on the switch. After it starts, the oil pressure comes up and sends power to the solenoid in the switch...

MEP 003 won't start, fuel solenoid not operating

I've searched the TMs for two days and I'm sure I'm overlooking it but for the life of me I can't figure out how to troubleshoot my fuel solenoid. When I first got the MEP 003, I test ran it using a slave cable (it had no batteries) and it fired right up and ran fine. I then parked it in the...

    MEP002A fuel hose

While that is true and it's better to use good USA stuff, the fuel hose on these generators is under a whole lot less pressure than a hyd system. Hoses that would never hold up in a hyd system will work fine for fuel hose. If you don't mind the looks, hose clamped ends and barb fittings will...

    MEP002A fuel hose

I've got a hose leaking on my 003 that goes from the filters to the engine. I haven't changed it yet but I was just going to go to NAPA and match one up there. They should have some hose that will work.

    hho injection?

If you want to see some promising hydrogen options, do some research on hydrogen fuel cells. I know we all dream of the day we can just pour water into our vehicles and head out but I've said it before and I'll say it again, IT TAKES MORE ENERGY TO "CRACK" WATER THAN IT PRODUCES. Those that...

    hho injection?

That's easy. I found this on the internet so it's bound to be true. :-D http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=Fv53K9MnDuM

    5ton sf-97 question

I'd get a clear title with the correct year or I'd walk away. Do not accept a SF-97 in his name and think you can just walk down to the DMV and get a title in your name. Some states have provisions for getting a title and some don't. Even those that do turn into a paperwork nightmare. I'd also...

    hho injection?

I think I've sated it earlier in this very thread but I'll say it again, there is no such thing is a alternator free ride. If you draw any electrical energy out of a alternator, you have to put that much mechanical energy into it plus some losses for friction and heat. You add that it takes more...

    Won't Shut down

Unscrew the fuel shutoff knob. Try and start the truck. If the truck starts and runs, you should be good to go. If the truck won't start and run, first make sure you have 24v going to the solenoid. If you have 24v going to the solenoid and it still won't run, you need a new solenoid.

    hho injection?

Here we go again. I checked out the facebook link and it looks like the club is doing some good work. I'd advise you say away from the whole HHO deal though. It just takes too much energy to break down water. It's a proven fact that you're not going to use vehicle engine to do it as you use...
