It's also not a big deal to pull the oil pan and check for play in the rods. May have to lift the frame of the truck and let the axle drop to get enough clearance to remove the pan. I've had one off and on in under 2 hours.
I would suggest a pyro installed before you crank up the fuel. You can without, but will have no idea how close you are to burning up the motor.
Here is the thread to turn up the fuel. Unfortunately, it is missing the images, maybe cranetruck can get them back on...
Sounds like you have a 5-ton LDS motor in a 2.5 ton deuce.
I've got the fuel turned up on my truck, runs about 1100 on the pyro(pre-turbo) on a long hill. Makes a big difference. That's not much, I fiddled with it at 1400 just to play, and the deuce HAULED. Turned it back down before I blew...
Just a throwout bearing? How good are you with a standard shift? Drive tractor/trailers? You could start the engine in 1st gear and shift without the clutch to get it home. If your really good you could shift into low range without the clutch to go real slow at the stops.

That sounds like a HUGE plasma cutter. I'm not an electrician either, just have some basic knowledge. You would need a heck of a generator to run that cutter. Here's a link to the plasma cutter, only 27,000 new! Maybe sell your's and buy a smaller unit, and bigger generator...
Well, we are just about guaranteed mud in April. I will come on whatever date is picked, but would lean towards a June date. Last year's weather was perfect. We were begging for some rain, was getting dusty, and then on saturday, we had a decent rain to make mud. Temps were in the low 80's...
I found the wheel cylinders will collect the water that gets in DOT 5, and cause them to rust. When I first got my deuce, it had DOT 5 in it, and all the wheel cylinders had a little water in them, with the fronts needing honed. I was told that DOT 3 will slightly swell the seals, and they...
A sled would be cool.... I didn't get to GA, did you guys have a cook, and charge for the food, like the FL rally? To have set food times might be a idea.
There is 800 acres total, fenced area is pretty big. I tried to make a map of the trails last year, didn't get it done in time.
Are you trying to start it with no throttle? Any colder temps and I give it half-throttle to start, then hold it at 800-1000 rpms for about 10 seconds. In the really cold stuff I have to pull the throttle out at 1000 rpm and let it warm up.
Here's a pic from 06, about 12 trucks in the pic, not counting MV's used for camping. Probably 20 people. Others come and go, with Saturday the busiest. I think this was the busiest year, 05 was the first year, about 8 trucks. 07 and 08 were pretty good.
Now SS Chris sounds like he's...
Here's a thread we had about lift blocks. This thread is about front blocks, which you don't have.

55Cameo did a nice job of a lift by welding a second section of frame to the truck, and moving the spring mounts down on it...
Well, I've made every haspin so far, and will make it to all of them in the future. Organize away, and I'll plan vacation for whatever date is decided on. I'm sure some of the regular haspin folks can chime in with some ideas. Glad to hear your making it back, we've missed ya!
There are 2 small chains supporting the tailgate. Any kind of heavy weight and the hooks on the chains will straighten out, dropping the tailgate. Sometimes the chains aren't attached well to the the bed, and break there. I'm sure something could be fabbed up to make the tailgate work for...
LOL.... Doghead, your needed here!
Check the top threads in the cucv forum, there's a sticky there with the gm key code. Unlike some here, I don't have it memorized.
