O yea, the WMO makes for some slow winter starts. Cut mine with some gas, and still need a wiff of ether below 20 degrees. Need to try the flame heater again, since adding some gas to it. On diesel, it started at 5 degrees with the flame heater.

Is there a ring of rust/crud at the end of the cylinder bore? Sometimes have to push the rod down, and clean up the cylinder. This is just from rebuilding other cylinders, haven't taken a steering one apart.

Grainger, mcmaster, maybe napa. Look on the sides of the link, sometimes the size is there. Should be like a 80 or 100 size... If you measure the pin dia of the links, width and lenght that should get you the right size. Not expensive stuff, may have to buy it in a 10 foot length.
When in first and reverse, the linkage is moved to the sprag, engaging the transfer case. If it only works in those two gears, sounds like the linkage is being held in place in those two gears, and moving back to neutral in the other gears.
Is there a detent ball that holds the transfer case...
Yes on pintle hitch... but it's pretty high up. Has hook ups for air-braked trailers. Plan on modifications, such has adding reciever hitch, 12v system if you want electric brake hookup, and maybe spin oil filters. You can search for any of these and find lots of info. Also, dump bed may be...
If you take apart the standard hot water heater, there is a lot of wasted space inside. Someone on here modified the box(made it shorter), gained a lot of room that way.

I believe someone posted an M816 may weigh closer to 40,000lbs. I've heard the data plate says 36,000. Just may want to double check your weights for the guy hauling.
Working on a 900 series? It's the only one I can remember with full air brakes.
Disconnect the slack adjusters so the camshaft can turn, should allow the brake shoes to move away from the drum. (this is just my idea, someone else may have a better one.)
Should be able to just back off the...
If you just want to move it around, put the transfer case in neutral.
The clutch was stuck in my 46 jeep, but darn if I can remember what fixed it. It was pretty rough engaging till the rust wore off. I take that back, I had to remove the motor anyways, so just took it off the flywheel while...
(this is on my truck...yours may vary)
The throttle on a M35 is not like a car throttle, it's a tractor throttle(governed). When you push the pedal, you are telling the engine what RPM to run at, not how much fuel/power. If you are doing 45 mph, and come up on a hill, the injector pump will...
We have gotten along pretty good with the owner. I think me and gimpy have talked to him several times, and he's pretty cool. Was willing to rope off an area for us. Had some trouble with some loud folks late at night, and the owner took care of us. The second time they did it, they got sent...
Only difference I know of is the timing, and maybe fuel settings on the pump. When you get into the LDS motors that are in 5-tons, then the internals are different.

Just give it to me, it's totally broke.
Did you change 3 filters, and not just the 2 on the engine? You mean engine goes to 2000 without you pushing the pedal? Sounds like a fuel starvation issue, and maybe a broken return spring on the pump. could be other things, let us know.

3/4 ones have a shorter distance in the U of the feet also compared to the 1" ones. I don't think you can drill them out to 1", slot won't be deep enough.
A search of towbar adapter turns up some good info.
here's a link to one.

I would lean towards a ignition problem. Check for voltage at the distributor, everything else is inside the distributor. Could be coil, condenser, or even moisture under the cap. Could pull a spark plug wire or coil wire to check for spark.

This is what I have been told, white is unburnt fuel, I see that when starting, or cold engine. Black is too much fuel. (and lots of fun) I have some blue smoke at idle on mine, belive it's from running used oil. Never seen brown before.
