If it just came "back from a shop with new oring and grommet", the bead should be relatively easy to push down, short of a proper bead breaker, I'd use a high lift jack myself.

Don,
Is there play in the bushings? If not,
That was a lot of highway miles, in the right lane with extra weight on the right front due to road sloping for water run off.
There is also the possibility of the axle tube being bent, welded on a little crooked, etc.
With everyone singling out M818's you'd think they'd be everywhere cheap.
Speaking of fit, Rich you remember this don't you?
Rub together under load? maybe with NDCC's, I don't know their limit.
Not sure you could put enough weight in a Deuce to bring the XL's together.
the 2 1/2 ton version is a M49A2C

also Google it
also, "refueler trucks" is kind of general, So I might ask, trucks to refuel what?

I had one driver side front so tight. After the 1" impact failed (had 150' of hose out)
I used the issue budd lug wrench set up with a jack stand to support the outer end and a 10 foot pipe.
180lbs bouncing on the end of a 10 footer! 3 or 4 bounces each and they came undone with a pow!
