ditto this... mine is remounted in the front bumper on a large heat-sink.. it is orignally on the side if the injection pump, and just gets waaay to hot.. i left the orignal in place, and got a aftermarket one for the front bumper... that way if it goes out, i can plug the orignal up to "limp"...
i love my 6.5.. only thing you have to watch is the temps... dont let the water temps get over 210*... but my pick-up has just under 300k miles on it, in it is still running strong! see my sig for everything i have done to it..
It could be your area? the truck I got from you is doing this same thing.. I'm having a he!! of a time with it.. lol O the joys of military trucks aua wouldnt trade it for the world :-P
when i had my M1009, i drove it all over the place.. i have never delt with hundy, but from what i have read here- he sounds like a pretty stand up guy.. if he says its good to go, i would drive it and never look back! just my2cents

i'll try to get some pics of the setup here soon for ya, the truck lives at the farm now, so i only see it every few days.. and yes, it does hang alittle in the way, but i wanted to have it within reach when i need it.. (when i go to town a put it behind the seat)
i have one in my 95' chevy truck, i have a CB, scanner, 2X 2-way's, and a switch box.. all with a rifle rack (with rifle) mounted to the bottom of it.. i havent had any problems with it..
The 4l80e trans is all electronic, so unless you want to buy a controller($500-$1000) you can't use them.. If the engine is a 1993 or EARLER you could use it with no real problem.. The newer ones are electronic controlled and won't work with out a ton of work.. I would just turbo the 6.2 and run...
Intake (upper and lower) exhaust manifolds, and turbo (and oil return lines) fuel pump(electric, it's on the driver frame rail) I did this to my old m1009 and it was like night and day difference
