sounds like you have done your homework! this is what i was neededing to know... i will be doing the swap at work, but only have one night to do the major part of the swap (meaning the lifting and bolting the new one in) i work for a airline, and i was told i could use the engine change bay (has...
thanks for the info! so could i just use the bellhousing from the 250 thats in there now? and i will be rebuilding the engine before install, so it shouldnt be "tired" i might even crank it up to a 350-375HP while im there.. 8):driver:
so I hear (read) on here all the time, that the best upgrade for power is a engine swap.. so I have been looking for a good option to swap into my M932A1 (kinda hard when you dont know much about "large" diesels) but i stumbled across this NTC300, I have not seen the engine, but as near as I can...
what about a "cable step" i see them on the back of service trucks, they have 2 cables about a foot long, and 1" thick and a step on the end.. there flexable for off roading, but stiff enough that they don't swing away when you step on them.. i would post a pic, but in on the work computer
Only difference in the A0 and the a1 is tires.. I converted mine from a "0" to a "1" and can't tell a difference in power. I like the 855 cummins (250) because it has more low end power. To me the best power plant though, would be a "big cam" 350 cummins it's also a 855ci (this would have to...
there is one of these near me for sale, how does it pull behind your 5Ton? and is the front axle in fact a dolly (and removable) or is it permanently attached? thanks
pic #1- red box is where the pump is mounted on the inside of the frame rail, yellow box is one of the lines to the pump
pic #2- over all view of the rear/side of the truck
pic #3- hydraulic tank i mounted here because where it was mounted interfered with the super singles (this truck was...
well with the M51A2 this would be a problem.. but with the M932 the winch is hydraulic, so everything is already there and tucked up under the cab.. all i would have to do is mount a valve, and "piggy back" off of the winch pump.. and at 25gpm, its more the enough to power a dump bed..
this is a thought... my first thought was to lift it with ratchet straps to the barn rafters.. (reinforced rafters) but that only works if theres a barn handy... this sysem that's in the link would work most anywhere...
i like it! now if i can think outside the box- could this be made into a "light duty" dump bed? i already have the hydraulic power because of the winch on the front.. could i mount 2 cylinders, one on the outside of each frame rail... and the rear of the bed hinged on the shackel mount... and...
i have searched, just only found the ones with the bed in place of the tractor kit.. I like the idea of putting a kingpin on the bed, but that sets the bed really high off the frame.. If I could cut the bed so that the hitch and ramps tucked up under/in the bed, and the bed's frame rails set...
I have a M932 tractor, and would like to keep it a tractor... but was wondering about making a removable bed that sets over the 5th wheel and ramps for when I dont need to pull a trailer.. has anyone done this? pics? how did you make it work?
I was thinking of attaching it in the rear with pins...
if my math is right, it should not be over 3,500 RPM... the engine turns at 2,600 rpm max, and in 4th gear the trans is 1-1, so that would be your shaft RPM as well... 5th gear is overdrive (cant remember what the ratio is) but at .75 (i know its not this high) it would bring your shaft RPM to...
i would hope out where your at, this would not be a issue... but i guess the "kids" and adults with no respect are branching out farther... this is the kinda stuff that makes my blood boil..:burn:
