thats what i would do, my 250 had a fuel problem (sucking air) and after i fixed the leak, i pumped till there was fule, and fired it up.. it wouldnt rev up any, so i just let it run for 15-20 min, and havent had a problem since..
I'm trying to find the specs for the 10 ton M971 trailer, more so- the king-pin to top of trailer hight.. i know it it is not a set height because of the airbags, just need to know if its going to be over hight on my truck... (truck's 5th wheel plate is exactly 5ft off the ground)
I also have STATE FARM commercial insurance on my M932, and i think mine runs around 250 every 6mo.. (I'm a bit on the younger side) but just because you have commercial insurance, DOES NOT mean you have to have commercial plates, or a CDL... just fyi
the heads i used were off of a hummer "J code" engine.. more then likely the same engine your using, the compression ratio shouldnt be to big of a issue because of the 6.5 being a non-turbo... i was very careful to keep the C/R correct on mine becacause I'm pushing 15-18psi of boost.. didnt want...
how did it pull behind your "bob job"? i was looking at one of these about a year ago, and was told on here that it would shove, and/or flip my 6x6 deuce... just wonderered how it actually did behind one.
I am thinking about doing this to my M932, i really want a "command center" trailer to pull with it, but the funds are saying other wise.. I can get my hands on a drop-side bed for 300ish, and i have the top and bows left from my old deuce.. i really like the way your truck looks, and i'm very...
i used 6.2 heads on a 6.5, the injector angles ARE differant, and a PITA to get the lines re-bent correctly, also to keep the compression ratio correct, you will need 0.010 oversized head gaskets.. the correct C/R is 21.5-1 on the 6.5
I am very interested in this thread, I have been saving parts to do this to a M939 truck, but my only hurdle is the steering setup... I was just going to go full hydraulic steering.. so I am very interested in seeing how you overcome this
the deuce winch is a 10,000 pound rated pto drive, the 5 ton 809 trucks have a 20,000 pound PTO drive, and the 939 trucks have a 20,000 pound hydraulic drive... as far as i know, the 5 ton winch is much beefer then the deuce winch..
hey matt, Josh here, we met a few years ago at the parade in Utica.. i have a M932 5ton that we could use to tow bar it with.. all i ask is you replace the fuel used.. let me know if your interested in this, i'll PM you my cell if you dont have it..
It does ok in mud.. just dont stop.. if you do, your done.. I have never had it in sand, so i cant speak for that... but as far as seats in the back, i would be scared of a lawsuit if someone bumped there head, or if something broke.. plus with these trucks unloaded, there VERY bouncy! i woulnt...
well, i would have got some vids of mine in the mud... but i was to busy trying to get it out aua i learned really quick that the 5ton is twice as heavy as the deuce, and sinks twice as fast, and twice as far, and takes twice as long to get out... lol next time i'll get someone to shoot some...
It's starting to sound like doing a small cam to small cam swap would be easist. I have been researching the small cam, and it looks like it can be turned up to around 400hp without to much trouble. (A civy moter with piston coolers) I have a chance to buy 3 small cams for under $1k all 315hp...
so is there a reason I would want the big cam over the small cam? whats the "max" horsepower a small cam can put out safely? (talking about a civy engine with piston coolers) there are a few small cam engines close to me for rather cheap as well.. one of them is a 315hp
i do not have that info yet, but should have it in about a week... i got the engine for the price of a used turbo!! and it is all there from the fan-to-bellhousing
i was under the understanding the the front engine mount was attaced to the front cover on the 250, and it was not that way on the 300? i have not got the 300 home yet, so i have not really got to go over it well yet.. but i know my luck, and if i just turboed the 250, it would have a...
