The reason I bought my duece first was because of the reliability they gave me as a platoon leader and company commander in truck companies. I have seen them kept in the maintenance bay during cold cold cold Fort Devens nights to go around and start every M915 in the motor pool. They hauled...
The 524 is the basic FM radio we used for platoon leader vehicles the 246 is of the 524 series and has two net cabability so that would allow you to talk to the company net as well as the Battalion. You would need a matching antennae to ensure the output is maximized and the range far exceeds...
The Army swapped out almost all of the Warn electics on HMMWV's soon after the war in Iraq started. The winch is so much better at handling long hard winching that the MTBF is way beyond what any brand of electic will give you. The Milemarker company has adapter kits for them to mount on most...
I have a push button in my deuce the way cool look hooked me. The story is this on them. When first introduced they were installed in HMMWV's and the sometimes had problems loosing the ground and as soon as that happened they often failed. The company redesigned them and attached a long...
Kenny:
Would you believe that the FMTV 5 ton tractor with armored cab installed is so front heavy that they had to ban them from traveling anywhere over 5MPH without a trailer because of a number of trucks that flipped up on their noses? What we did for them in the welding shop in SWA was to...
My 18 yearold son is driving a 1984 M1009 that I bought for him and it starts and runs very reliably. We paid just under $2000 for it with 50K miles and a little body rust.
Sorry to ask this but the video link it blocked can anyone post this to our videos or put in still shots? We are very limited on what we can see due to bandwidth and regulation. I am just glad I can access Steel Soldiers once in a while over here.
This is my built up M 101
I built this top for my trailer after I bought it from GL but we did a number of mods like this to trailers we committed to specific mission support. I wish I had pictures of all the special items we built onto trailers and trucks over the years but they all served...
Folks:
The link here shows the untold story of our great Soldiers in Iraq and the story shows the relationship and importance of this newer combat vehicle to the Soldiers. A good read and I ask you keep all these Supermen in your prayers.

RE: Re: enclosing the genset
Couldn't you bust that surge from the capacitance with some big dialectric filter caps? Just a thought because they would work the current issue for you. Other than that the end of the mount near the mud flap is that closed when tranisiting yet? The small plate...
We are using a bedliner like compound to spray on our tankers that has a special additive that stops the leaks and protects the fuel from small arms fire. Fuel without sufficient air will not burn and that is the concept. On the MSR's in Iraq there are many black spots where the fuel tankers...
This is how I did it on my M52 it really helped to have the winch, extensions and bumper all together and a fork lift.

Ken:
I think you would really like to get a hold of an M354 with duel axles and 1100 20 wheels and tires. I got the last four of them in the Army inventory shipped from Arizona to Fort Hood in 1990 because we were short tractors and headed to war. In order to move the trailers we pulled M 871...
Mike can you give us a percentage of members compaired to members on the map? I think it would be interesting to see how many are on versus not on the map.
Thanks and is there a way to put in other countries? I would put a temperary one in Korea if it does.
I have one and the super single tires were each worth more than I paid for the whole trailer it came with all the bolsters and binders in the tool bin. I have had it loaded with about 9 tons of oak logs behind the duece and hauled them to the sawyer. It is a really nicely built trailer and...
I kind of hedged my bet on Mechanicsburg and wore my uniform to pick up a lot while M38in Maine was waiting for his EUC and had asked me to check his truck. I got a kind of carte blanch to walk around and found his truck and was able to do a pretty good check of it including starting it and...
Sorry I missed your question on this Please see this link here on the forum:

I think it will answer your question
Very much McGivered I will say. I think the lack of a full nut worth or theads in the nut concern me the most. I would make sure I have at least an even with the nut amount and then drill it and put a spring click or cotter pin in to make sure. I also like brakes on anything bigger than one...
