    Deuce matchmaking

I am not sure of the part of the Great White North you are in but there is a place in the northern tier states that sells military vehicles and parts I think it is in Montana or Idaho. Someone here will know I just don't have it as one of the favorites here in Korea I had at home. If they are...

Should I drive a deuce home from the auction?

I am so glad you are enjoying the site it is my favorite place to go on line. The marking on the windshield shows it was T/I'ed 05 this means a mechanic at unit level or above went over the truck with the unit/ds level maintainance manual. If the T/I showed up some critical fauld most of the...

Waking a MV from a deeeeeep sleep...

Oh boy another Steel Soldier from Indiana. You will love that truck more and more as you get to work on it there is just something about big trucks that served our country well. I miss my MV' s almost as much as I miss my wife and kids. The big leap of faith for me was leaving them all in...

    Wreckers New Toy

Wreckerman: God bless you my friend I had a MRB back in 1985 for my hearing that got blown out by a simulator going off right next to my head. I got to address the board and told them I could still do my job better than any other LT in the unit and that my hearing loss was not in the range of...

    Alt amps

I hear you Acetomato, I taugh HS shop for ten years before giving the kids back to their parents and going back into the Army. I could not belive when I taugh the kids about electricity that almost none of them knew the math to use the simple E=(IXR) chart I had on the chalk board. I talked to...

Should I drive a deuce home from the auction?

Plus it was Technical Inspected in 2005 which is most likely the last time the unit had it in it's hands. That is a good indicator along with the radiator there and the truck sitting near level. I would wager if I was a betting man that this will start and get him home.

    Deuce repower

Why not just upgrade everything to a big block Cummins 400 along with a Roadranger 13 speed I know the great sound of a 2 stroke detroit is hard to beat but I think the worse job I ever did in the shop was to change a leaking return line on a 318 Detroit in an OTR truck. The fuel kept spitting...

Should I drive a deuce home from the auction?

Those pics show me it is a driver get r done is what we say. Hooah it was turned in because they have 900 series trucks or FMTV if they deployed. The reason it was not screened by the police or other agency is most likey the warped floor in the back. If the engine was pulled I am quite sure...

Should I drive a deuce home from the auction?

I would definately drive it home Soldier. It is very possible that if it did come from the Guard or Reserves that the unit would remember the truck or at least the ECS folks. I can not read the bumper number from your Avatar but if you can find out the unit you might ask them about the truck's...

    Bob the Dumpin' Deuce lives

That looks so good it makes me want to buy another duece to chop and make a clone of yours. I think I will have to move to the country though my parking is getting tight.

    Look what followed ME home.

RE: wow That heavy load low boy must have cost quite a bit I know we used them to get from Yermo, California up to the NTC and the ride cost the Army $1000.00 per trip to move our M1's from the rail head at the Marine base there. Are all your issues with the city counsel all taken care of? I...

    When it rains, it pours!

Kenny was the guy that out bid you the imfanous 8500 last four? He outbid me on every M818 in Mechanicsburg a year ago and almost took my M127 at Lakehurst he bought every other one there in that sale.

Just bought a M35A2C by mistake...

That is an Oshkosh snow plow greatly taken advantage of. The truck looks very good I would take two headlights the licence off my duece a uniform and a credit card fly up there and fire it up and drive it home. O the adventure of getting a truck running. I know the chance exists that it is...

    When it rains, it pours!

Congradulations, that is great news. M105's are one of the best trailers the Army ever bought. Every landscape guy eyes mine with envy when we load it with mulch or horse manure. I got mine at a Fort Hood DRMO auction just after getting back from Desert Storm. They had dozens of them and in...

    Daily driver?

I have to chime in here, the duece is not dangerous, it is a big truck and needs to be driven as such. I have had my CDL since they started issuing them and my Class A truck before that and each large truck must be treated with respect by the driver. I have seen my share of bottom of the...

    What to expect-buying a deuce-moving cross country

Single makes this much simpler, do you have anyone that would like to ride with you that would bring mechanical skills with them, i.e. brother, father? It would be a good time of bonding and getting to know a truck you most likelly will not sell. ( at least if you are like most of us the...

    Looking for help

RE: Move South Central Texas is really nice and the land is reasonable once you get far enough away from the bigger cities. I would have stayed in the Marble Falls area if my wife had not insisted in moving north.

5 ton in VA GSA Auction

I know this is a sensitive issue and some would even think that it is not ethical to say what you are bidding on to friends here on the site. I know I have bid on and won some and lost some while a member of Steel Soldiers. I have gotten way more out of posting it after I won or lost it and in...
