I am glad you are getting this off the gound.
So glad you are able to proceed with your business it is a great thing that I believe will bring many folks your way. Get a spot on Fox news and see what happens.
Do you have to DEMIL all of your tanks to any degree or are you able to keep them...
Joey:
The statement the Ken made about just getting oil in there and get it home is my advice too. Often an oil leak looks bigger than it really is. Oil covers so well and when it leaks during driving it makes steel tie dyed design. Carefully remove all fill plugs and do the finger in the...
RE: MadDawg
Way to go Mike your daughter is gonna love to ride in that one too. Wouldn't it fit up there where you had all the radio mounts? I know the trees won't complain. Those are fine looking dueces and you will love having one. Mine is still my favorite of all of them with the M52 a...
RE: forgot one more
The originals had major drive line issues that caused them to vibrate to the point of the vibration causing loss of control. For the first couple of years we could not drive them over 20 MPH. The manufacturer came up with a redesign and the Army did an MWO on the early...
I will see if my Son's want to bring the M 1009 up for a ride with you all. I would love to be back at the creek it is an awesome off road park, My oldest son made some money with his TJ getting it highest on the ramp at a local Jeepfest but on the rocks at the creek so far he has blown out...
RE: got my first duece how bad did i get burned?
I would think you have a bad seal in the tranny or one of the axles. Throwing oil is messy and can be dangerous but if you didn't run her dry chances are it will be better in the morning when you get a look at it. One thing is these trucks make...
FMTV The Truck close up pictures
Here are a bunch of shots I took here in Korea, I tried to get enough so you all could do a virtual wander around one of them.
The dark shots of the trailer are because I am working my tires off over here and that is when I was able to shoot the picts.
If I can get my son to shoot some pictures of ours it looks good with the bigger meat. I also let him dark tint the rear windows and now she looks really good.
I spoke personnally to the chemical engineer at Rustbullet and I was told that Rustbullet automotive $117.00 a gallon is fuel proof but they do not advertise it as a fuel tank coating because they said they don't thing most people would be able to get two coats of the paint covering every part...
RE: Pictures of FMTV Tires
The thing about the FMTV is they are not built as tough as a 900 series or even a duece. I noticed spring issues on one end and saw many of them at their limit with armor on them in Iraq. The lug nuts are hub centered you can see the slight bevel on the spare.
Pictures of FMTV Tires
These are photos I shot yesterday of the FMTV tire. The valve stem is tied to the CTIS head on the rim on all of them including the spare tire. hope this is what you were looking for.
That sounds like a wonderful trip. Driving it that distance will be a great experience and a great way to get to know her. I think there must be at least a dozen of us that would share that ride in a heartbeat. Buying it from a member gives us a greater degree of confidence too and I really...
If that is a CUCV 2 then there are CUCV 3's too they have a beautiful one at the Viginia Museum of Military Vehicles in a contact truck configuration with a duramax diesel and it looked great.
I never see the total members numbers when I log on I guess I just have to keep looking but at my age every time I try to count the pins my eyes get mixed up and I have to start over. I don't have time to do it now either so I guess an estimate of total members vesus total pins would be....?
Heck you will put mud on it anyway when you go into combat to pick up our wounded so what difference does it make. I would stencil your name on the window to indicate you are the driver and I am sure your daughter would get a kick out of being stenciled in as the assistant driver on the other...
