Road Trip from Ft. Riley To Denver

Wow that is great that you got it home, the issues with the truck will not be as bad as it seems especially with your mechanical experience. Getting it home is the biggest first step to owning a MV and I am quite sure despite the issues that came up it was a trip you will not forget and is...

    Deuce in flood

Awesome pictures and ditto on the deputy. Kind of like in the movie Die hard when the cop is telling the blake dude to get his hands up when he is trying to answer the phone in the subway and ends up being saved by the guy he is trying to arrest. We did the same kind of work in Wheeling WV...

    speedo/tach combo?

I managed our Tachograph program through our Truckmaster in my M 915 equipted truck companies. The great thing about a tach program is that the paper disc is a legal document. From it my guys could tell what gear the driver was in at what point he applied the brakes and could be used in a court...

    6.5 turbo for my 6.2

RE: 6.5 turbo for my 6.5 There are NA 6.5 engines the early M998's had them after the 6.2s were outmoded. We pulled all of them in Kuwait and put in 6.5 TD in them at the rebuild.

M1009 desert pics on the net

Man if I knew this would have been a picture someone wanted I would have taken quite a few. The thing is now most of them are relagated to contractors or DA civilians who are working on Army equipment. The thing I remember about them in the first Gulf War was how easily Soldiers were getting...

RE: Re: RE: A few pics... Andrew: I am so sorry to hear of the loss of you goats. That must have been almost half of them. Where they chained to the tree or just near it? I hope Eric and Amy get a chance to come down to visit you and when I retire I am definately planning a road trip to...

RE: Re: RE: Da Beast That is a great truck I always wanted an old Power Wagon when I was a teenager and had to settle for a CJ3B. Keep the update of the project recorded here for us to gaze on.

    Voltmeter not working.

Yes Welcome, Please feel free to use the Chaplains Forum for any spiritual needs. My 84 Voltmeter works and these are an MWO that was put on them after the Army first got them because I got a brand new 84 issued to me as a 2LT Transportation officer in the 104th Trans Co and it did not have one...

    M38A1?

I have 5 Jeeps in the family right now three of them are projects and from those years the steel was thicker than anything from 1960 and later. Even the early 60's were pretty heavy but rust on them had to be really hard core to rust thru. I have a 1962 CJ 5 that I can still walk on the hood...

    M52A2 Home

I think I may have had a similar issue if you can be more descriptive. My M52 got quite hot while I was pulling my empty M127. It felt a lot like I had the trailer hook ups wrong and the trailer brakes were on. They were hooked up right but the truck was not able to make speed on 695 and I...

    solargizer quantity on deuce

RE: Solarizer on the duece I had to think of something to get the sun and stay out of the way especially if I wanted to fold down the windscreen. It also serves as an additional place to secure MRE pouches by wedging them between it and the stack for heating while driving.

    CUCV wheeling pics

Great Pictues I really like the viewer they are posted on. When I took my family to San Diego last summer for a wedding they all wanted to move there. It is beautiful. You mean you have never run the Lake Michigan Dunes or the Illinois crick beds and timber stands? You guys in the Midwest...

    New animal in the yard.

I would not doubt if it did not spend time towing 6th ID Soldiers on skis around in the Alaska winter. That is such a cool vehicle I would have traded any of our Jeeps for one too. Check out this link maybe it is yours or one from the same issue...

    Got me a movie mog!!(PICS)

Great to see you got er done. It is always cool riding aound the hood with the just finished motor or clutch job. My first tour like that was with my CJ3B with my good friend holding a gallon can of gas on the frame sitting on a 4X4 with me sitting on the other side of it. We no sooner got it...
