    Deuce clutch replacement

When you talk of going through the right door are you removing panels or what has to come off? I am thinking a transmission jack would work if it had the reach wouldn't it? I hope my clutch stays good for some time. It held good towing the dolly and M 127

Solarizer on the duece Here is a shot of the homemade Solarizer mount on my duece. The one on the CUCV is just in front of the passenger side of the windscreen and just behind the back end of the hood. The M52 has it glued to the hardtop on the pasenger side

Katrina Deuce Story - MUST READ

RE: Must Read! Hurricane Katrina Sarge: I am so sorry I don't know what I would do if any of our children passed on. It is not an easy thing to take any way it happens. I know that many of us have already said a prayer for you and your family and we will continue to lift you up to the LORD...

Katrina Deuce Story - MUST READ

RE: Must Read! Hurricane Katrina Guys: I just printed it to read in a boring meeting I have to hurry off to but while I was in Iraq my son wanted to borrow my duece to drive down and help the people in NOLA but he did not have enough money to do it. I hope that in any situation that calls for...

    Pictures from VietNam, 1968.

RE: More pictures. 1968 Great Photos, Thanks for posting them. I know how you feel about how things change. When a young enlisted man in the early 70's I did not see myself owning a duece either but then I would not have been able to take it with me anyway. One of the great encouragements I...

    R6602 Troubles

I doubt that many of our 6602's have 50 year old head gaskets I know my engine was rebuilt in the late 70's, I know that is still an old head gasket but I have older vehicles than that with original gaskets and no leaks. Please let us know how this goes as I am going to turn to on my M52 when I...

Road Trip from Ft. Riley To Denver

I will see if any one I know is at Fort Riley and perhaps they can help you get eyes on the truck. The thing about visibilty is an issue when towing my dolly convertor I could never see it until I backed out of line. You could put a couple of bike flags or tape an eight foot 2x4 on the...

    Trailer question

I have towed my M105A2 thousands of miles with more than a ton and a half in it. One of the better trailers the Army ever bought. My M969 is my choice if I am hauling logs out of the timberland since it is a 5 ton and has had a lot more than that on it with six 40 diameter logs on it.

Good ideas for screw extraction, please

Bjorn: This tread should be a sticky. I have used just about all of the ways mentioned here and agree on taking your time to drill it out all the way down as big as you can without knarling the treads. I have had a few of the wide flat snap on extractors break because they have a wide base. I...

M114/ V-100 Tophat turrets for sale OR ARE BEING SCAPPED!

WGTACTICAL: That is one thing that really gets my goat I am sure he does not get that kind of money for two honda engines so the guy really is bluffing when he said he would scrap them. I have seen lots of scapyards where the guy died keeping all his old stuff because he was too high priced to...

Road Trip from Ft. Riley To Denver

That is great news! I think your plan is solid, if it is a full size bronco I think you will have no problems towing it and if the M109 has a problem put the Bronco in Low Range and tow the M109 to the nearest rest area or exit and fix the M 109. My bet is having used my duece to pull my M127...

When a Technical Inspection(TI) is done by a unit mechanic after the operator lets them know from Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS) that there is a problem with the vehicle the mechanic will do up an inspection form 5988E (formerly known as a 2404) the mechanic will write down...

got my first deuce how bad did i get burned?

The real key to any combat recovery is to keep the thing lubed. If it is pouring out do what you can to stop it fill it up and go. Class III leaks deadline a vehicle but if you have to get it home circle X it and go for it you are the commander of this truck now.
