I don't think its the fuel because it shifts down to 4th and stays there, no matter if I manually shift, let off on the pedal, shower down on the pedal. I would think if it was the fuel or air filter it would not idle well. I could be wrong, that is why I posted it up here so I could get some...
I checked my fluid and it looks really thin. Not too sure if it has DEX 3 in it. I figure that its 30wt. I'm not too familiar with what DEX 3 looks and smells like. My plan is to do a fluid change and go to DEX 3. I got a couple of numbers to shops that work on Allison transmissions so I'm...
This was a slight incline that it never had an issue with before. Once I was on a flat straight away it wouldn't shift up to 5th and stayed at 45 mph. I downshifted to 4th then tried to get it to go to 5th but it seemed it just didn't want to, I could downshift lower but it just didn't want to...
I was on my way to a car show this weekend in the 923 and it seemed the transmission wasn't shifting correctly on the top end. I started out fine, it was shifting great, but after it got up to temp and I was half way there I was going up a slight incline and it seemed that I started losing...

OR
I have a nice M923A1 which has the setup for a winch, just no winch, that I'll sell you for $10,000 :)
I would go with the 900 series. Drive one and you will see why.
Yeah I could check a salvage yard or there are a couple parts M1009s listed on Craigslist that I could check on. I was just going to see what the size was and go grab a couple bolts from Lowes or Home Depot.
When I redid the interior I took out everything including the seat belts. Well I lost the bolts for the 2 front seats. It is for what I call the female end that bolts to the floor. I found it in the -20P TM. It is NSN: 5306-01-157-3279 Part# 471083. I have tried Googling the NSN but all I...
I want to say THANKS to the folks that have contributed their expertise to this thread. I went to go start the 09 last Saturday and it tried real slow to turn over then click, click. My back battery was down to about 10 volts so I put it on charge while I surfed here for answers. That is when...
M35s are not as readily available as they were 12+ months ago. I prefer GL just because I get an adventure and I save money. Other folks will say they stay away from GL because they don't want the hassle of the "paperwork" but that hassle can save you up to $3,000. I've seen a few buy trucks...
I have got some good information. Thank you. At the moment the draft has been passed along to the respective agencies that will be affected for their comments. Hopefully there won't be too many issues, but if there are we will address them. Keep the info coming because every little bit...
Read the Operators TM on how to tow a M923 that will give you some good insight. I would say 50 mph is pushing it for what I would call "safe" towing. Now that is just my opinion. I would be sure to have a chase vehicle following a safe distance behind. For my first towing experience, it was...
When you talk about safety standards and such you have to take into account the time frame of when these were built and what standards were in place. I don't see any problem of getting them registered in states but I do see the huge obstacle of getting their classification changed so that they...
Well I'm looking forward to seeing you and the M151 there. They may get a wee bit upset if you park next to them but if they do, you have a spot over with us :) At least yours will make the convoy ride without breaking down rofl
I used my 923 to haul my daughter's 2 ponies home from the in-law's. Sorry no pics because it was already dark when we got there and loaded them up plus I wanted to get them home. Of course it was 2300 when we got home with them. Now try and get some ponies out of the back of singled out...
I put my new wiper motor in :) Although when I went to start it, it tried to turn over very slowly, then click-click, and then nothing. It seems my back battery was somewhat drained so I'll have to dive into this issue during the week and/or this weekend.
Selling the M1008??? What the!!!! Well I guess you have to sell some tjings to make room for others, if not then your yard will look like mine with MVs, trailers, and parts all over the place.
Is it possible that we will see it at Petit Jean in a month?
