I've tried...the vinyl cover does not like to be rolled up. Mainly because of the molded corner pieces. What I've done is place it face down on a flat surface (camo side up), fold the end flaps up and inward (as best you can), then the sides up and in making sure all of the straps/clips/bands...
I bought my deuce from Alex...great guy with great after-the-sale support. He's one of the good ones. You know that when you buy a deuce from him, he and his mechanics have already gone through it and it's ready to roll. Prices are a bit higher than you see on GL or Ebay, but it's the service...
Saturn Surplus has them.
Part number 7368685. They are $3.50 each per their site.

Note that the NSN number is: 5315-00-736-8685. That might help you find them at other places.
I just sold a used one to a fellow SS member for $100, and it was in great shape. Pays to be a SS member. :)
About $300 new is what I've seen them go for on ebay (for the tan ones).
If you don't mind a trip to Idaho, and a fiberglass top, Idaho Motor Pool has NOS ones for $650. They will not ship them though...pick up only.

Call Alex there for more info.
There was one at the MVPA convention...I snapped a pic of it:

Looks like it's owned by someone in Canby, OR...but I'm not sure if it's for sale or not (maybe worth a little research to see if...
Coolness!
How did it tow with that set-up?
Tell me about the trailer you used...size/brand/etc.
I have nearly the same truck, and would like to use it to fetch these big trucks in the future. I have the 4.30 gears and the 6.0 diesel, which I am very happy with. I'm sure the truck is...
If it was built in 88, it's a split system, like mine.
If you PM me your email address, I will send you the TM for the split-brake system....it should explain everything.
StreetbikeDepot,
I bet you have a split-brake system on that 85 deuce. If so, and you are parting it out, I would like to talk to you about buying some parts. :)
Split rim "Widowmakers" are not the same as the "Split Ring" wheels used on our trucks.
They do require the same respect and understanding, but the ring wheels are safe and wont come apart like the older style split-rim wheels as long as you know what you're doing. With the older style...
I had mine apart today to fix a leak in the fuse holder cover...it was completely full of fuel (bad tank gasket allowing fuel to slosh up into the cover through the wire bulkhead fitting I think). Anyways...it had a 2-1/2 amp fuse...guess the USAF just split the difference between the 2 and 3...
What year is the deuce in question? Ones built (not rebuilt...actually built) in the mid-late 80's should have a split-brake system, with the fronts on a different circuit than the rears. A bit more safety if you lose one circuit, you'll at least (sort of) be able to stop with the other. This...
