One of the trenchers they sold was a Vermeer tracked machine with rock teeth. Had a grand total of 50 hrs on it. It looked brand new. I think it sold for $40,000+. On a dealers lot that thing will bring $80,000+. I just don't understand why the military would get rid of something almost new like...
I went to a local auction a few weeks ago. It was a police dept selling surplus military equipment. They had 5-ton tractors with lowboy trailers, excavators, trenchers, bulldozers, dump trucks, etc. This is the police dept mind you. What would they need with all that type equipment? I'm thinking...
My soft top truck seems much quieter that the hard top trucks I've been in. It seems the metal hard top resonates the noise where the soft top doesn't. I like my soft top myself but my truck stays under cover when not in use. If it sat outside all the time I believe I'd rather have the hard top...
It's almost impossible to shim the PTO per the TM with the trans in the truck. There just isn't enough room between the PTO and the frame to use a dial indicator. I always just do them by feel.
I kind of agree with Rick. You've already gotten a pretty good gauge of the interest in a $600 PS kit. I'd either post up the complete system with pricing of keep quiet about it until you can.
If it turns out to be a good kit with a good price I'll be in for one. Until then I'm done with this...
I can say with 100% certainty that if the OP thinks he can sell a kit for around $600, it's not a Garrison. Just the Garrison drag link cost more than $600. Then you have to add a pump and a tie rod cylinder.
I think I'm going to sue all the posters on this thread for making my head hurt and causing emotional stress.
Just kidding of course but the fact is I could very well follow through with it. I might even actually win ( I've seen worse that won). Even if I loose I could still cost all of...
I've built several towbars and sold them on here. There were several that said I would be sued into the poorhouse for doing this. I just labeled them "off-road only" and sold them. I'm confident in my work and so far I know of no problems.
I wouldn't let the product liability prevent me from...
Wouldn't that make the steering wheel turns from lock to lock more? You can't increase torque by mechanical means without increasing distance traveled.
I'd consult a lawyer but I'd try and keep the lawyers and insurance companies out of it as much as I could. You get them too involved and that...
I wonder if disabling the low range 6X6 switch is such a good idea. I don't know this but I wonder if the switch is to make sure the torque is divided between all axles. As we already know, the t-case is already a little on the weak side. I just know that on some civilian vehicles this is the...
Look on the top of the t-case. You'll see the end of a cylinder sticking out of the case with a air line going to it. Disconnect the air line, plug the line, and plug the cylinder. There's no operational reason to plug the cylinder but it keeps trash and water out so water won't eventually get...
It's pretty straight foreword. Just remove the cover, install the collar, bolt it up, install the the oil line, and hook up the linkage.
I'm unsure what you are talking about when you say "two linkages". Only other thing that I can think of that hooks to the PTO lever is some trucks had a cable...
