That's easy. Just plumb two inlets and two outlets into your tank. Your steering and brakes does need to be on a engine driven pump so it drives all the time. All the other stuff only needs to pump when you're using it.
You can get into flow dividers and multiple section pumps if you want to...
The deuce brake system does have it's faults (single circuit) but IMO pedal pressure isn't one of them. Sounds like a whole lot of work to solve a problem that doesn't exist.
My deuce will stop as well as any modern big truck. As with any larger truck, you've got to allow plenty of stopping...
Correct.
I may be a little off on the specs because it's been awhile since I've fooled with it but the M939 winch pump I think is rated at 14gpm at 1,000rpm (pto speed, not engine speed although the best I recall it is close to 1:1). The pump shaft speed at governed engine speed is almost twice...
Personally, I'd go with the 20gpm valves, that way you'd have the extra capacity if you needed it.
12gpm is a little on the low side when it comes to the stuff you want to run. Sure, it will run almost anything but I fear it would be too slow for your taste. For instance, a M939 hyd front...
You can power out the line by moving the winch control lever in the cab. You can pull the line off by hand if you disengage the disengagement lever on the winch itself. Also make sure your drum lock is out.
The preliminary test the cops will pull is just a visual test. They use a clear straw or hose to pull some fuel out of the tank. If it looks clear to the naked eye, they will let you go. So there is really no reason for a test kit because if the fuel looks clear (not red) they will not send it...
I've gotten a couple of MVs from GSA with dye in the tank. If caught you could probably fight it and win but it would still cost you.
The two tank idea won't work. How would the authorities trust you to only use the dyed fuel off-road?
I've never heard of a different tax for trucks and cars...
All I can say is wow. I've done some crazy stuff before (nothing quite this bad) but I'd never have the guts to post it in a public forum.
IMO, if you don't have the money to have your new purchase towed or hauled home if needed then you can't afford it.
I was looking around the GSA site and saw this listed on a lot- " We have recently learned that some Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Department of Justice owned vehicles may have a Confidential Hold on them. We are working with these agencies to ensure any Confidential Holds are...
I'm not sure your hand written records would hold up in court. It's really best to keep all red dyed additives out of your truck. Sure, you could fight it and maybe win in court but it could still cost you more that any benefits you'd gain by running ATF.
Would I turn somebody in? Probably not. I have to agree with what Jeff has said though. It's stealing, no way around it.
It kind of gets under my skin when people think they are somehow exempt from paying takes that everybody else has to pay. I'm no big fan of taxes but in most states, the...
I've heard it's the same dye. The dye is just for the visual test though. He's already failed that.
They may check the composition of the sample which will tell the sulfur content and the ATF should show up. You never know though when it comes to government. I've been preaching not to run ATF...
Last time I stepped on a nail I couldn't remember my last tetanus shot so I figured I better go get one. I went to the walk in clinic and told them all I wanted was a tetanus shot. They sent me back and the Dr. came in and wanted to look at my foot. I showed him my foot and he said "yea, looks...
As long as it's unloaded, I think it's legal in most states. It could cause a bunch of unwanted attention though if you do something like go to the bank to cash your paycheck with the weapon mounted (even if it's not real).
The long link and other parts sitting next to the gasket in the pic is the interlock to prevent you from using the PTO with the t-case in gear. It really isn't needed.
Here's a pic of the interlock installed- http://www.steelsoldiers.com/385024-post15.html
I don't have the interlock on mine...
You just push it out. There is a ball and spring in it that fits into a groove in the pin to act as a detent. Just don't try to take the pin all the way out. If you do the spring and the ball will go flying.
Edit- I didn't read your post close enough. After I read it I realize you have...
The last one I installed had the link missing from the PTO to the shift shaft. I think I ended up using a M35 clutch rod I had lying around. Adjustment isn't all that critical. You just need to make sure that when the lever is all the way up it pulls the lever on the PTO all the way forward.
I...
