Question 1:
I need to replace one of my sealed beams on my M109. For now, I don't want to go with H4 or LED's :-D, just a regular sealed beam....so I can get my Commiewealth of Massachusetts state inspection. Where can I find one?
Question 2:
Does the turn signals added to these machines...
so it begins......
I drove my 109 for a short hop this morning to drop the kids to school. After I parked it, I noticed an oil spot about 5" around on the ground underneath after it had benn parked about 1/2 an hour. WTH! It was NOT there when I started it, so it happened in the last 5 miles...
Darwin - :funny:
Now that'll make em happy. Maybe a deer stand in the front yard too? :)
Think LOW profile...if a 109 on 395's can BE low profile
A blue tarp isn't going to be an option in my snooty suburban neighborhood, unfortunately, or I'd already have been to Ocean State Job lot. :)
It's going to be AT LEAST 2 months, and they're winter months.
it looks like my contractor is going to be delayed 4-6 weeks :( to make the mods necessary for my garage to accommodate my 109.
does anyone know where a cover could be found? I looked on ebay, and did a search for M109, but the one listing that was there said they couldn't make one, despite...
Well, I got home at about 1AM this morning. It was a 15 hour odyssey. Traveling with an 8 year old has it's own unique set of challenges. The truck ran as well as I could have hoped, total trip was an indicated 483 miles. The truck averaged about 8MPG with a 1500 pound payload of 7 michelin...
Made it home without having to change the filter. She'll run as high as I want to over the 2700 RPM redline**, so I think I was in good shape. I'll be warming her up, and cleaning the check valves and swapping the filter now that it's home.
**I never ran it over 2700 on purpose, but it...
The grommets were changed out when the tires were changed, as were the O rings. The shop claims there is pitting/rust on the wheel, and that I need a new wheel :(. All this, and 'only' 525  to mount 7 tires. (Well, 6 that work, anyway)
The shop came recommended from someone I trust...
I went through 16 insurance companies before JC Taylor would insure me. Massachusetts has some brutal insurance rules. I got around them, and the registration bulls*** by registering my M109 as a camper. Other wise, commercial plates would have been over 350/year alone, and commercial...
OK, going with the SS consensus. Have one, but don't change it. 10-4. I'm sitting up reading the TM again. Recovery in 9 hours.
I brought my 8 y/o son down to share the 450 mile trek home.....I hope it is going to register as a fond memory :)
He's been over the moon about it, and wants to...
Make sure you have a gladhand so you can use the onboard air, as well as a big impact gun and 1 1/2 inch impact socket if you have to change a tire.
The biggest PITA I had to deal with when I got my truck off base was the incredibly crappy decal stuff which was stuck to the driver's side...
I don't have anything productive to add other than I registered mine as a camper, in the hopes that they won't be able to pull this on me once I get mine home.
