    Shelter carrier hardware

I looked at some pictures of shelters on HMMWV's and the ones on the M1097 look like they are the same s-250g shelter, where the shelter that is on the other HMMWV variants is built to fit the HMMWV only. The fit in the M1097 is tight to the cab. I don't see anything on my shelter where it may...

    Shelter carrier hardware

Firefox, the best wood to use would be pressure treated. It will never rot. That's what M38 used too. The bad is when you cut it the cut wood will be exposed that is not treated. The pressure treating doesn't go all the way through. To give the cut areas some protection you could paint those or...

    Shelter carrier hardware

The problem I see with the dunnage is backing the truck under the shelter. It was a tight fit without any dunnage. I can see the need for dunnage under the bottom rails to keep the shelter off the bed sides but I would like to find another way to anchor the shelter at least front to rear so it...

    Shelter carrier hardware

My shelter has rails built into the bottom of the shelter on the sides and blocks on the ends. I'm unsure until I do some measuring, but I'm wondering if my shelter requires the same dunnage. M38inmaine, is your shelter built with the built in rails or is it flat bottom? I'm wondering if some...

    Shelter carrier hardware

I ended up getting a shelter for my M1028 and I got it in the bed late this evening. Is there anything that is supposed to be under the shelter? It rests on the bed rails. The rails do have a top plate. Anybody here have a shelter mounted mil-spec, with a picture? Thanks

    M1008 leaf spring question

It sounds like you just have to know which one of the 3 sizes is on your truck. I'm changing what I originally thought because I took a look at my truck and the eye to eye distance changes with the weight on it. So I would measure the top leaf. If you have the truck loaded and the spring is flat...

    Chevy PTO winch

It looks cool, but it also looks like alot of added weight up front besides the fact that it will be a ton of work to get it on a M1008. Probably would be best to buy the whole truck to get everything you will need.

    Ft. Polk assistance

I brought my deuce and trailer in the commercial gate at Ft Lewis and after 10 minutes it left a small spot of engine oil. They had the mirrors under it and said that I had an excessive leak and that while they could deny me entrance ......they will let me in this time. If I said anything except...

    PTO on m1028

    PTO on m1028

On the M1031 the PTO ran the 12k generator but the M1028a2 had a dually bed. no generator. What was the pto used for on either the a1 or a2? Did they really have a pto?

    PTO on m1028

I see that the M1028a1 and M1028a2 had the 205 transfer case and a PTO. What did the PTO drive? Thanks

    m1028a1 upgrade ???

I saw that the a1 and a2 had the capability of a PTO. Did they have PTO's and if so what did they run? Thanks

    Shelter carrier hardware

I would really like to see one mounted on a M1028. It's probably not too practical so maybe there aren't many out there, but if somebody has one, I'd like to see it and how its attached. I'll try the TM's and classifieds for pics too. Thanks

    Shelter carrier hardware

Does anyone have a picture of their M1028 with a shelter on it and especially a picture showing how it is attached? Thanks

    700r4 swap into a M1008

Probably has to be a half ton suburban 4x4 diesel. I don't know how common those are. I've seen 3/4 ton but they have the t400.

    brake problem

I changed out the MC and that cured it. I like the fact that these vehicles are relatively easy to work on. My ford pickup went out of warranty and so did the MC on it not long after, but it was so buried in there I had the dealer do it. That cost me almost $900, the MC itself was $700+.

    brake problem

Well, the PS fluid was low, but filling it didn't help. The main symptom is that if the brakes are applied very slowly the pedal will go almost to the floor before the brakes begin to hold. a fast stop the pedal will stay up, usually. I'm going to change the MC 1st, then look at the hydraboost...

    brake problem

My daughters m1009 has sat for over a year and now that she started driving it again a brake problem has developed. I have searched but didn't come up with a matching problem. Idling it can have a good pedal but moving the pedal can go soft and reach the floor in a stop. The soft pedal can...

Dangerous Situation Today With My M1009

I think you should go over to the other side and take off the good hub. You can see then how it is put together. Your going to do the brakes and grease that side anyway so do it first. Second I would put your 14 bolt under there and then look for another front with the same gearing as the 14...

Looking for a turbo for my M1009

Banks has these "BIG" sales usually around a holiday. I don't know how good they really are, but if Iwas going to make a big purchase from them it would probably help if it was during one of their sales. The other way to get a banks system is buy a wrecked truck with the system. Keep an eye on...
