    20 inch wheels

Possibly the dealer is afraid of a liability issue , I don't know. Those wheels at summit are expensive. Makes me think a custom painted steel wheel built to those specs might not be anymore expensive, but what wheels to start with? I'm interested in what sharecropper uses to build his. Thanks

    20 inch wheels

Who makes a commercial light truck wheel 8 lug 20" that fits our CUCV's. Out here we have a tire dealer called Les Schwab. They are in just about every town with a population over 200, they are everywhere. They practically own the tire business out here. They ordered wheels for our michelin...

    4 new/ used CUCV's

The govt doesn't make anything they sell through GL. It is just a way to dispose of it. Look at the SF97 it tells what GL paid for it. Using them as targets is sad from our point of view but is a practical use and could be saving the military money in a twisted sort of way, which is the way our...

    20 inch wheels

Thats what I'm looking for. I'm surprised that I haven't seen that done before but with that price tag in 1985 dollars I may have answered my own question. I don't want to give up, I have the michelin tires. I'm hoping someone has found a solution that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. I know of...

    M911 back

I'm surprised they go for so much. I thought about bidding on one out here but where to park it. It went very cheap in comparison, but had a cracked frame.

    popping noise in front end

I have had that popping and it was only noticeable at tight turns and slow speeds like backing out of a parking space. It was the bushings in the leaf springs.

    trailer differences

I just wanted to use one dually wheel each side to bring the tire back under the bed of the a2 box since it sits on the wide a3 axle. I was hoping to find out if it would fit before I bought any. Sorry I wasn't real clear. Thanks

    trailer differences

I was thinking the military would want the surge brake standardized so they wouldn't need to stock parts for many models. I called one local supplier and he told me they only stock fulton brand and there were many models of it alone. I'm going to look for a dually wheel to test on the trailer. I...

    trailer differences

Thanks for all the help, but I still need more. Are all the surge brakes made by the same company or based on one brand? I'm trying to locate parts locally. I wish I had a TM for this. Is there a tool for raising and lowering the landing leg? If so I need one of those too. Thanks

    trailer differences

Where is a good place to get that shock absorber? Will the dually wheels from a 80's chevy or ford dually work on these trailers. My son wants a set of hmmwv tires on his truck, so I'm looking for a replacement for the trailer. I thought I'd put some 16" dually wheels on it and use a 235/85/16...

    trailer differences

Thanks, I'm learning what I have. Its listed as a M116a3 chassis. It has a narrow box so it must be a a1 or a2 box. Its rated at 1 ton and has the raised axle. I bought it for the hmmwv wheels and tires and was thinking that if I got some dually rims maybe that would put the tire back under the...

What are the differences between the M101a2 and a3? also what are the differences between a m116a3 and a m101a3? Thanks

    HMMW-v tires

I was at an army installation that had stacks and stacks of Hmmwv tires, that were being shipped off somewhere, (I think he told me Kansas) to be scrapped. The tread was very good on the ones I saw but they may have had other problems. Maybe they are slipping through the cracks and thats how...

Best way for me to buy a deuce?

If somebody is flipping the truck, the fact that they don't know its history is the main concern, but you shouldn't rely on anyones word anyway. Know the truck to your satisfaction before you hand over your money. Don't make the seller come part way, non refundable deposits, or any other junk...

Best way for me to buy a deuce?

Remember this is not a new car purchase even if it is new to you. The dealer has never paid me to bring my car to them when I trade it in. If you buy from a dealer expect to pay a premium, whether they are a good dealer and inspect everything from the ground up before they sell it or hang a...

Best way for me to buy a deuce?

I think the expectation of the seller to deliver is over the top. Treat a deuce like any other vehicle purchase, drive it, compare it to others, weigh all the pluses and minuses. With a private party sale it is much easier to do all of the above. I have bought from GL and private. With GL, you...

    20 inch wheels

Problem is they don't have the right shoulder like a deuce rim does and they won't fit. Les Schwab can't get anything. We tried. The 1100rx20 michelin truck tire is what I have. I just want a steel wheel. Wondered if anyone has these tires on their truck and how they did it. Thanks

    20 inch wheels

I heard they do but not for a tire like the 1100x20 michelin, which is what I have. At least not commercially that I have found.

    20 inch wheels

Does anyone have these on their CUCV pickup. I was thinking that 1100x 20 michilins would be a good tire if you could get 8 lug wheels. Recentered deuce wheels? I would think anything is possible if you have the money, but I'm looking for something economical. Thanks for any ideas.
