Mid Ohio Military Vehicle Show and Swap Meet

Just a bump to see who's going. I'll be there tomorrow, with M35 and M108. Dennis

    My "new" M185A3

Nice truck! Haven't seen a shopvan with winch before. What's the difference between M109's and M185's?

    Walkin' the Deuce!

    Yea, what he said! :ditto:

    Airpack modification for towing

Shut off valve is needed. The line is vented without brakes being applied, so just blowing air in without the valve causes it to vent right out.

    Airpack modification for towing

It's pretty simple to hook the brakes together on two deuces for towing. Take the J-pipe off the airpack on the towed deuce, insert male air nipple, then hook the service line on the back of the towing deuce to the airpack. But, that darn J-pipe is a real pain to put back on sometimes. Flared...

    what is this deuce bed?

Looks like a M108 bed. Missing the toolbox and crane. Any better pics? Bed also looks like it's been moved back.

chunks of metal in motor oil

I'd recommend pulling the pan to check. It's not a big deal. Long extension on a impact to get the bolts loose(there's a bunch of them) Wouldn't use the impact to tighten them. To get the pan out, you'll have to jack the frame up, leaving the axle droop. I've dropped the pan twice, dosen't...

    100% used motor oil fuel.

Bunch of funny guys ehh? Don't do the burnout thing anymore, putting new tires on will do that! Plan on towing the M108 to a show saturday, I'll see how the oil does then.

    100% used motor oil fuel.

Well I got up this morning, and starting the truck was interesting. When I did the test run yesterday, the pump still had the thinner stuff in it. Today with the pure oil, it started then stalled, similar to a 15 degree cold start. With a little throttle, it started right up and idled...

    100% used motor oil fuel.

I will have to stick my head out the window next time I drive, but at idle it was the same. I didn't notice any more smoke than usual driving. One problem could be cold temperatures. I'm thinking any temps below 40 degrees could cause some problems.

    100% used motor oil fuel.

Wondered what would happen if I used 100% used motor oil(UMO) as fuel. I was done to 2 inches of fuel in the tank(by the way, don't park on hills). That was about 75% UMO. So went ahead and added about 35 gallons of oil, leaving myself enough room to thin it with gas or diesel if it wouldn't...

    M 35 mulitfuel questions

    Glad it was something simple!

    Radiator

Yea, gimpy's stays cool because it's only putting out 100hp! With a turned up pump, towing a 20,000 lb M108, and 95 degrees air, my truck ran 220 degrees plus. Just towing 6000 lbs can get it pretty hot. Without a load, it runs 180-190. I've tested the thermostat, had the raditator cleaned...

    8 ton on a deuce?

RE: 8 ton on a duece? Guy down the road from me has a lime spreader on a deuce. Don't know what weight he puts on it. I've hauled 8 ton on my deuce dump, it did it okay, but would not do it everyday. I would recommend a 5-ton also.

    Goose chase

Whoa, what? Huh? What other truck? :o

    Dummy covers

You can also use a front hub to cover the back hub. I have this on both of my trucks, not as much tire wear. On the road isn't much problem, but off road you won't get far with just one axle driving.

    MV Show at Kentucky Speedway

Help me out doc, the deuce with the star, and chains on the bumper. He was at haspin, but darn if I can remember his name.

The Official '08 SS Ga Rally info thread

RE: The Official The website waiver form says no riding after 5 pm. Is the rules different for non atv's? Night rides are one of the fun things, it's great wondering about after dark. Is there electric where you are setting up the main area? How far away is the campground/showers/restrooms...

M656 Ford 8X8 5 ton carrier to buy?

Don't think you'll find a WW2 one, they were built after. Cranetruck will know when they were built for sure.

    Dummy covers

The front spindle nuts stick out past the flange for the hub. Can't use just a flat piece, has to be dished/cupped to fit over the spindle. I bought a spare set of flanges and bored the splines out. Works well, but takes tools and about 10 minutes to swap the splined hubs on for front wheel...
