    attempted theft

D--n - really sorry to hear that. At least they didn't get the truck. I've been there - big sinking pit in your gut feeling. I guess consider it a warning and do the best you can to "secure" the truck. I don't know if an alarm is possible, maybe at least a kill switch, or I guess have to...

WHO WHO!! - We Have Ignition!!

Boy, Ace - You got that right - Enough's Enough! All the kids that come over to play with the trucks (kids of all ages!) think the tires are pretty cool - me too! My Deuce still has the 9:00 - 20 NDCC's (I think it kind-of needs them - has the 17' long van body - I think she might be heavier...

WHO WHO!! - We Have Ignition!!

Just a quicky post....... Had a few extra minutes away from the work. Weather was great so curiosity and impatience got the best of me. Wandered out to the back barn to see if the green beasties would fire after their "long winter's nap". The M54 fired with only a little cranking (multifuel)...

    The 5-Ton HMTT is home!

Hi CraneTruck! Thanks for posting that picture! Actually, that is a picture of this(my) truck during testing in Aberdeen. My truck still has the Army assigned numbers visible and are the same as that on the one you pictured (see att.). The only difference is that they have re-painted...

    The 5-Ton HMTT is home!

Hi Guys - Finally back from another day in the trenches (frozen trenches). I do have to be careful to not sound like a wimp because I know that there are a lot of folks who have A LOT more snow/cold than us! Maybe I can try to answer a few of the questions (if I know the answers!). Q -...

    The 5-Ton HMTT is home!

I did get her back home. she runs pretty good. I think first and second of the allison five speed need some work as they may be slipping - but seems to run pretty good. Runs the current 16.00-20's and uses the M656 basic drivetrain.

    The 5-Ton HMTT is home!

Hi 1stdeuce - Yup - that's the one. matter of fact I know of the power wagon you speak of - saw it up there quite a while ago but they said that it left a few years back. I have pics i should post of it. I just think that it is pretty cool being built by the army as opposed to being...

    The 5-Ton HMTT is home!

Hey southdave - Ya, I think the one you show might be the 10 ton one built for testing by pacific car & foundry about the same time - very cool to see it is still out there!

    The 5-Ton HMTT is home!

Well Everyone, after al lot of patient years (about 15) the truck that I have been waiting for is finally home!! About 1994 I stumbled on this truck at a research facility and it finally came up for auction and I was lucky enough to be able to bring her home. From everything that I have been...

Hi Gang - Just won a Truck in a Local Auction and need to get it moved. Time is not critical, but would like to move it before the end of the year if possible. Truck is in Calumet, MI (near Houghton). Going to Chelsea, MI (between Ann Arbor and Jackson). Truck is 18,000 lb., 8' 2"...

My BIG M925A2 Project Truck Is Home

Hey Guys - Just FYI for future - I have used Crimp style Compression Connectors with integral shrink-wrap style coatings which "melt" a water-tight sealant inside of the connector when heated and shrunk. I used these when I was doing custom wiring for hot rods and trailers. Havn't had the...

How do you mark your bumper?

Here is a question for you then - If the trucks that you have : were never issued to a unit (original paint from '68 with only TP & Fuel Tank Stencils) - so no orig unit markings there. or- truck was already restored/repainted so no info there. and to complicate the matter -...

    newbe wants your thoughts.

Well - Here's my 2 Cents worth. I have had a few MV trucks. Now remember - this is from my point of view and everybody is different, so .......... I enjoy playing. Don't get me wrong, I have done engine swaps and stuff. But to be honest with you, that was more than a couple of years ago...

    Happy new HEMTT owners

Hi Gang You're right - there must be some that get taken, especially if he can come up with some kind of sincere-sounding references. I guess the best thing is to hire a professional vehicle appraiser to check it out (or in this case if it actually exists). All I do know is that Damon must...

    Happy new HEMTT owners

Wow Guys - what Army Unit was numbered DMA251? Sure must have been a big unit to have so many "identical" 1984 HEMTT's. Gee Whiz Batman! All of a sudden all of these HEMTT's are getting "dumped" on the market. Too Bad Stalwart - I guess you bought too ealy and should have waited for the price...
