pick up times at GL sites

I am posting this after reading a post about missing a pick up time at a GL site. In one of the following post was some incorrect word was passed that might lead to other members showing up after a long drive and finding a locked gate instead of picking up there truck. If we could get fellow...

My first dent in my trailer. Boo who.

Talking to WWII Vets, most trucks at that time had one, very small round mirror on the drivers side, nothing on the passenger side. When I ask about backing a truck back then, they all say the same thing..... Back by "feel". So, in the eyes of history, you did ok. One of the few, Frank USMC RET

    M37 pulled from service

I think the "US" military took the last ones in 1963 or 1964, the ones that were made up into the late 1960s were made for Canada, and should have had the bigger motor in it (the 251 Dodge motor). The US military wanted the M37 to be made up into the late 1960s, but, the bean counters found out...

    GL just lost another customer.

I have bought several trucks and trailers, plus truck loads of "stuff". I have also picked up items for other members. No problems, great guys to deal with. I give the GL guys here a A+. I have been buying surplus sence the early 70s, so I am not a newbie. One of the few, Frank USMC RET

    Usmc m151a2 fav

The one that I had a chance to see up close must have been an early one, I do remember it being flat black and the bars on it were threaded pipe. I always carried a cheap throw away camera in the field in my flak vest pocket......I do not know why I did not get any photos of the jeep. Fell on my...

    Usmc m151a2 fav

Looks great! The few that I saw were painted flat black....but, I do not think they had a common paint job, just what ever the Marines needed at that time. I also, noticed on the ones I saw, nothing was the same. They were just home built. The jeep that I got real close to and looked over one...

    Most Common Rust Problem Areas

In this area, (North Carolina) I see alot of rust under the door area. The area would hold water and it waould rust out from with in. It is a very easy area also to patch, or just put a piece of sheet metal over. One of the few, Frank USMC RET

    What the heck is this?

The M2-4 is a very rare truck, finding one with the winch and bed is a find. Gerrycan, you are right they have a 1 ton rating. The photo you posted is of the M1-4 (half ton model), note the small tires and the spare on the drivers side, the M1-4 had two spares, one on the drivers side and one on...

    surplus helicopters?

Hate to post this, but were I work at, we rebuild UH1 Hueys and the Marine Cobras. If it is to old and not worth rebuild it goes to DRMO, to be destroyed. I saw about 7 plus Hueys there one time at DRMO, none of them were in any where near flying condition. Just shells. One of the few, Frank...

    M5 bomb trailer

I had one about 2 years ago that was just surplused out. It had been used sence WWII as a warehouse trailer, so it was very complete and had no rust or rot. It even had the cart in the tool box on the front and it had the correct size tires. I sold it to a guy in Ohio (I think) who had a...
