Beltfedonly has a good price on a fully restored model. Most of the ones I've been seeing that are in nice shape are going for around 10-12k. I made the mistake of buying mine off eBay for what I thought was a steal at $2300 only to discover after I paid $1000 in shipping that the only thing...
Well actually in my head lights. None of the lights on my new M37 are working so I started at the front. Pulled the HL rings off and the glass fell out of both HLs. Then I pulled the reflector part of the bulb out and found that the inside of the HL housings were packed with yellow jacket...
Where did you pick it up at? Sorry I didn't get a chance to meet you while I was living in Yakima. My MS group was actually serving breakfast at the Lackland AFB Fisher House yesterday and I met a woman from Yakima whose son was getting treated for lymphoma at Wilford Hall. The world seems to...
What's the correct nomenclature for an '86 G30 with maintenance box and generator? The Wiki post shows the Marine Corp version as an M1010 but what would the Army/AF version be? And what would the typical accesories load (fire ext, tools, etc) look like? I'm watching a couple in Texarcana...
This is my 3rd '57. You'd think I would have learned my lesson after the first 2. They make very little in the way of aftermarket for the '57-'60 Ford pickups. If it had been a '56 I could have built it from the frame up just with new parts. Makes me kind of glad to start working on an M37...
Anyone have experience with pallitized items at Ft. Sam? Do they have a forklift and help load? I've got about 20 pallets and need to get them into a Uhaul truck.
Hey everybody. Thanks for the replies. I live in Boise. I am looking at trying to move somewhere north eventually- Grangeville, Orofino, etc.
My suggestion would be Grangeville (graduated HS there) if you like it nice and quiet. As a matter of fact my Dad has his 90 acres on the mountain...
That's pretty amazing. My problem unfortunately is two fold. 1-This is my wife's truck. 2- I am forbidden to do anything that would keep it from being drivable for longer than 2 days. I'm trying to locate a parts truck that I can take apart and restore piece by piece and just swap over...
I think it caught it from all the rust on my "minor rust" purchase. Luckily the frame and running gear is in good shape. It does look like there was an electrical fire though. The right blackout drive wiring was burnt to a crisp and the brake switch connections are completely gone. I think...
Thanks. I just wasn't sure if one had notches or something like that.
And I meant "non" in the original post not "none." I don't want nobody thinkin' I is illiterate.
It's amazing what's available for the M37 on eBay. Of course sellers aren't always as honest as you might hope (guy who said my 37 had "minor rust"). But I've gotten some decent items for decent prices. I was able to get most of the manuals on CD there and have picked up the missing ones...
If you're looking for a good stable, sturdy wood you might want to try IPE. It's a Brazilian hard wood that is being used in a lot of decking these days. I made an adirondack chair out of it for my mother-in-law. Hardest freaking wood I've ever worked with. I went through 8 drill bits...
Actually Kevin and I are old friends now. He was out yesterday to take the M37 for a spin. He's going to try and scrounge me a new body. All the mechanicals are great (that's one good thing). And the Fording Kit and Heater are all there except the dash deflector on the heater (another good...
The guy finally showed up this morning at 0700 (11/03/08) so he was 4 days late. The M37 is certainly not in the shape the seller advertised. I guess that's the price you pay buying something 1500 miles away.
RE: Idaho
I just bought my M37 for $2300 and it came with a fording kit. It's got better ground clearance than a CUCV and should get better mileage than a deuce. It's also small enough that you won't need 8 parking spaces at Albertsons.
Idaho
I agree with the Gamma-Goat. That thing would be sweet for hunting or fishing. Now getting one...
I have MS and also have difficulty walking, standing, etc. I just bought an M37 supposedly for my wife's Christmas present. It's a standard shift but I'll add pwr steering/brakes to make...
