How hard should the brake pedal feel

Have you lubricated your air pak? If not remove the plug on the back or the j-pipe and squirt a little air tool oil in there. That may help a bit. This is part of the periodic maintenance procedure. If your air pak wasn't functioning at all you would hardly be able to stop the truck.

    Opinions on tires

If your going with new tires you should have a look at the continental HCS tires.

    Deuce starting...and running problems

Was the HH removed prior to or after it quit running properly?

    Front inner axle seal

If your going to do one side I suggest doing both. Disassemble and remove both steering knuckles and pull axle shafts. Recovery4x4 posted an excellent write up on this. Then go to home depot or similar type store and get a 6ft piece of 1/2" black iron pipe and a 1/2" black iron cap. Screw...

    Convert to Automatic??

I kept waiting for the winch chain to snag in that video. And I wonder what transmission is mated to that engine. Or rather what the gear ratios are.

M35A3 master cylinder leaking at shft under boot

I am not particularly familiar with the a3 master cylinder but if its leaking then it needs to be addressed. I would disassemble the MC and if it does indeed have o rings inside then I would give honing and replacing the o rings a try. Again if it is already leaking then it needs to be...

    Convert to Automatic??

The utter lack of an overdrive is what kills the a3. I have been thinking it would be awesome to repower a deuce with an engine that is more reliable and stouter than the MF with an auto tranny with a good overdrive gear. The problem is finding an engine/tranny combo that will fit. As several...

Or you could do like I am doing and have the wheels powder coated.

    67 Kaiser-Jeep M35 repowered

That truck needs a bit of love. Interesting choice of engine.

Airpack or master cylinder failure? Both? Neither?

Depends on which style you have. For the older long style there are many sources. Just shop around and see who has the best price. The short style is a bit harder to find. Tnj Murray has the rebuild kits and another member here tracked down a slightly cheaper source. As far as country of...

Airpack or master cylinder failure? Both? Neither?

I guess I should have clarified a bit more. Tho pitting is VERY common in the air end of the air pak that isn't the direct problem. There are several seals around the shaft of the piston that keep air out of the brake fluid and brake fluid from leaking into the air end. These seals sound like...

Or they don't change the air dryer filter.

Airpack or master cylinder failure? Both? Neither?

If you pulled the rubber boot back on the master cylinder and it was dry then my suspicion is your air pak is going bad. My guess is what's happening is the seals around the booster piston is allowing air to bypass into your brake fluid. Your MC is the highest point of the brake system so the...

    Tire flat!!

Probably either the o-ring between the wheel halves or the grommet around the valve stem where it goes into the wheel.

    Heath's M35A2... the beginning

I found a slight pause in neutral between gears really helps with shifting. Especially the 1st to 2nd jump.

    best gear oil for deuce

75w90 is fine for the axles. I am unsure of what to put in the winch. I have heard people mention using corn head grease in the winch but that was in circumstances where their winch was leaking.

If you could find out what year and model of engine that would be awesome. Pictures would be mo-better.

    best gear oil for deuce

Acceptable yes....optimal.....no. Gl-5 is much better for the axles since it has the high pressure additives the rockwells need. The axles do not have yellow metals at risk of being corroded. Your transmission and transfer case however do have synchros that can corrode. Gl-1 or non detergent...
