A 1 ton will tow a deuce just fine as long as you have good trailer brakes and good tires. Now what I don't think will work is using a bumper pull trailer. I would strongly suggest a gooseneck trailer. Mostly because of the tongue weight involved.
Depends on what you pay for a3 wheels. I paid 200 a wheel for mine. But you commonly see them going for 300 or more. But the great thing about a3 wheels is they fit with no mods obviously. Now if you bought tires already mounted on hemtt wheels for example then it would be cheaper to get...
395's on a3 wheels coming soon. First I have to get the wheels powder coated flat black. Then order some tires. Then maybe my truck will hang in with traffic.
O sorry I don't have the parts laying around. You can get everything you need from Napa. I'll post the gasket and filter # for you tomorrow. Pm me your email and I will scan the instructions and send them to you.
Sounds lime your airpak is bad. When I bought my truck the pedal had good pressure but the brakes were very weak. Turns out my airpak was rusted solid. And what do you mean by there's oil at your brakes? Was there oil in the brake fluid or was there oil running out of the brake drums? Also...
Yes. You remove the original filter canister but the head remains. There's a gasket that goes between the adapter and the filter head. The skinny threaded end goes up through the filter head and is secured using the original nut. Then simply spin on your new filter. Keep in mind you must...
Dip just install a pyrometer and turn your fuel up a bit and you will have near LDS power. And tom I believe your power steering kit is on my short list. I get the feeling 395s will be a hand full off road without it.
Good luck discovering your problem. Too bad your aren't in east TX or I would have offered assistance. If you end up needing a new axle or diff pm me. I may can help you out.
I don't think an a3 will do 60 even with 46" tires. But I could be wrong. The seals in the a3 spindles have 2 o rings and an outer grease seal. The a2 has no o rings and have an inner and outer grease seal. If your not driving through deep water or mud neither should really give you...
I wouldn't be surprised if you get a refund check in the mail. My state farm agent is bad at over quoting me on my other policies. Funny thing is they are still cheaper than everyone else even when they do over quote. I sure wish they would cover my deuce.
I would start by pulling the front drive shaft and seeing if that makes any difference. If it doesn't then you can rule out any transfer case problem. If you don't mind me asking where in Texas are you?
I'll take an a2 over an a3 any day. That cat motor isn't a bad engine bit dang is it expensive. And I beg to differ on driving an a3 is much easier than an a2. Air assisted steering isn't a whole lot better than manual. Any issues caused by stiff suspension or dual rear axles applies to both...
Its funny this thread popped back up. There's another thread just lime this being discussed in the hotrod forum. I'm definitely interested. We aren't famous for good roads here in LA.
Hey I'm willing to give it a try. At the very least maybe some of the twitchiness can be taken out of the steering. Might have to pay some of my rock crawler buddies a visit.
Well I'm not expecting it to be a miracle cure. Especially with manual steering and these awesome Louisiana roads haha. Just wanting to find something to make it more manageable. Though power steering is on the list. I'm really torn between the waterloo specialties hydro kit or something...
