    Cracked my intake manifold today

I wouldn't use the jb weld. Just smearing it over the crack the vibrations from the engine will probably cause the job weld to crack. If that's aluminum then if you have or know someone with a might welder with a spool gun you can weld it on the truck. If its cast iron id braze it. Also if...

    Cracked my intake manifold today

I'd weld it. But I guess I'm in the minority there.....

HanksDeuce: 8" Lift, Bobbed, External Cage, A/C and more Project!

I have been tempted to turn my fuel up but my truck is decent on power. So until I get an egt gauge I'm going to leave it alone. I have the injector pump with no FDC so it would be great to have a video on how to adjust it.

    Dot 3 or Dot 5

Dot 5 can be found at Napa for around 35 bucks for 32oz. If you had to bleed the air pak then yes you must bleed each wheel also. This way you get fresh clean fluid to each wheel and get the air out. Start at the furthest away wheel from the Mc. This would be the rear passenger side wheel...

New to Deuce, We have lights, but no Turn signal or Brake lights. Help

One thing I did on my truck when my blinkers quit was I pulled the flasher arm apart and cleaned all of the contacts with fine Emory paper. It didn't help in my case but for those who think their blinker lever is bad its something to try.

    Dot 3 or Dot 5

O and simple test for brake fluid is pour some brake fluid into an empty water bottle. Then add some water and shake. If you have dot 5 it will separate out and float on top after a while. If you have dot 3 or 4 then they won't separate since dot 3 and 4 absorb water.

    Dot 3 or Dot 5

If you haven't already build a pressure bleeder. There's a thread about it in the stickies. Well worth the 40 or so dollars to have one. Then once you have your pressure bleeder hook it up empty to the master cylinder. Pressurize the brake system and salvage some fluid from a wheel cylinder...

    Dot 3 or Dot 5

Dot 5 turns amber very soon after being added to the system. DO NOT add dot 3 until you are sure what is in your truck. Dot 3 and dot 5 combined will gel and possibly cause brake failure. More than likely you have dot 5. But siphon some out and add some dot 3 and see what happens.

New to Deuce, We have lights, but no Turn signal or Brake lights. Help

The wire to your blinker/ brake light has 2 numbers stamped on the number tag if I remember correctly. Pull that wire connector loose at the tail light and use a multimeter to see if you have power from that wire. If you do clean the grounds really good and if they aren't there already add...

max HP out of a 465 multi fuel?

Also I meant to add a gas engine would not be out of the question. I have an 02 Chevrolet c6500 with a drilling rig mounted on it. It is powered by an 8.1L vortec mated to an Eaton 6 speed manual. That truck easily weighs double what the deuce weighs and it will blow the doors off my deuce...

max HP out of a 465 multi fuel?

I agree pretty much with everything you stated. I'm not exactly looking to convert my truck. At least not till the ldt craps out. Though crossing fingers she's still running strong. But if I were to do it I would like as much though preferably more power. I would also like to go automatic...

max HP out of a 465 multi fuel?

Not to derail the topic but I would think a better discussion would be what engine/ tranny combos would be a suitable replacement for the MF. For instance what engine and transmission combo would fit in the deuce engine bay and not have to move the transfer case? Even if you had to move the...

Changing oil in deuce for first time

3dangus- call eriks instead of using the website for small items like that. He's a super guy and would probably stick small parts in an envelope for you. As to changing the oil....that has been layed out pretty well. As far as burning alternative fuels I believe a bit of clarification is in...

    M35a2 Cab Heater Core

Well stick as far as your deuce taking forever to warm up I don't believe its your thermostat. My deuce takes forever to warm up also. As does every other diesel I own. At least in comparison to a gas burner. Keep in mind the deuce has a massive iron engine block to heat up along with a huge...

    new deuce purchase brakes

I fully agree with getting it towed/hauled. Drove my truck from Monroe to Shreveport. Which is about 150 miles. My brakes were very weak. That was not a fun trip. Also I second pulling down the air pack before getting a rebuild kit. Ask me why.....

    M35a2 Cab Heater Core

Dipstick I usually get about 60 psi on a cold start. Then it will usually drop down to around 30-40 psi once the engine gets good and hot. I also have the full Jatonka spin on oil and fuel filter kit. Kinda expensive......however extremely worth it IMO.

accessories ran off deuce air supply

Soda may not cut through that paint. I'd be looking for walnut shell. Another media that has served me very well is play sand. Its cheap but you have to sift the gravel out.

    carc paint

Carc is durable but in the civilian world....very expensive. It was designed to help hide heat signatures of vehicles. For us that isn't really needed. I have been tossing around the idea of coating my entire truck in something like spray on bed liner. Durabak so far seems to be the one I...
