I dont believe its the turbo. I would pull your injector pump and have it looked at. Sounds to me the IP is dumping more fuel than it should. More fuel pumped in then the more exhaust gas. More exhaust gas means your turbo will spin faster. Spin your turbo faster and you get more boost...
Thanks frank8003. You really have given me a bunch of useful information. Unfortunately I cannot find a thread here on SS or anywhere on Google about the short air pack other than what it looks like. I have seen a few references where some folks said they had rebuilt them but other than that...
Thanks there is a bunch of good information in those videos. But, again my air pack is not the same as the one in the video. How similar are the 2 styles when it comes to rebuilding them? I know I will need a different rebuild kit since they are not the same. I finally found a new style...
I do want to thank everyone who has responded to my problem. I generally do most of my own mechanic work including some larger trucks in my fleet. However this is my first Deuce and I do not know the in's and out's of this particular truck. I learn a bit more day by day thanks to everyone...
Ya I'm going to build a pressure bleeder. But at the moment that is not my direct problem. I know I'm going to have to rebuild the MC. That is a must. My issue now is should I rebuild the air pack as well. If so where can I get parts since I have the A3 style air pack. My air pack is...
I don't think it's going to be too much trouble to pull the master cylinder. Now as far as my air pack goes I'm tossing up the idea of rebuilding it as well. My problem here with oiling/rebuilding my air pack is i have the newer short style air pack. My truck was rebuilt by the military in 91...
So I have an update on my situation. I had a chance to crawl under the truck today and i pulled the boot back on my MC and fluid came out. The MC is going to need to be rebuilt. I'm starting to think the air pack may in fact be functioning. Now off to order parts.
Yea Warren was a real strait shooter. I fully agree with you there. In fact I mentioned I may bob this truck and he wanted first pick on my left over parts. Which I have no problem doing. But basically I think im gonna start with the airpack and probably go ahead and rebuild the MC. I...
Wednesday of this week i took delivery of my first deuce. She made the four hour drive
from Monroe LA to Shreveport LA with no problems.....except I must stand all 165
pounds of me on the brake pedal to have a prayer of stopping. I keep reading threads
stating that other members can...
I'm with you there. I'm north of Shreveport myself. Maybe sometime we could get together. Just a thought. I'd be cool to meet some fellow deuce owners. Especially since this will be my first deuce as well.
I couldn't agree with you more. Like I said before I am in the process of purchasing his last truck for sale. I actually stumbled across his truck by accident. There is another guy in Monroe selling his M35 but he apparently would rather hunt than show his truck even though he agreed on the...
Would you by chance have purchased this truck from Warren at Warren Automotive? I put a deposite down on his ladt truck earlier this week. He mentioned someone from east texas had just picked up truck #2 of 3.
Hey ranger390, did you happen to purchase your truck from warren automotive? if so i put a deposit down on the last truck he had for sale. he mentioned someone had picked up truck #2 of 3 for sale not long ago from east texas.
Hey guys, i just want to start of by saying im happy to be a new member here. I have been lurking for a while since i put a deposit down on a truck in Monroe La. Its a 1972 AM General M35A2. AS soon as my insurance agent gets back with me i will be off to Monroe to bring her back here to...
