So I take it thats not a bad price for them? I don't know how many the guy has but I need at least 6. Preferably 7. If he has any more I will get in touch with you and let you know what he has.
Before you replace your brake booster most of the time you can rebuild them for a fraction of the cost. My trucks brake booster was toast when I bought it but this was due to being full of water. Do you know which style of air-pak your truck has? If you have the older/long style there is a...
Honestly the only special tools I have had to buy are sockets and an impact big enough to bust off the wheels. Also the spindle nuts require a large special socket. Other than that its no different than working on my chevrolet. In fact the simplicity of these trucks along with the wealth of...
Dipstick, I found a thread last night detailing the install of that kit. Already forgot what it was called. Anyways it was very informative. I'm glad you like the setup. I plan on 395 super singles along with lockout hubs on the front with an air locker in the front diff. I already do a bit...
My truck is currently running the old 9.00-20 ndt's and well.....I can't wait to get a set of 395's. The ndt's really don't have that great of traction on anything but dry pavement/hardpack dirt. If you do put your 395's on please report back with your findings since I want to convert to super...
Robriot welcome to SS. First as a few have said there isn't much hot rodding that can be done to these trucks. As far as alternative fuels go it is my understanding wmo actually has more btu when burned than diesel fuel. Thats why you commonly see pyro meters on trucks that run these fuels...
Hey ranger give HandMpaintandbody a call. Hes a great guy and the 2 of us are more than willing to lend a hand. And I'd be cool to see the sister truck to mine (or brother).
How do you like that power steering system? I am strongly considering it when I get some super singles for my truck. I'm putting 395's on her so I don't imagine steering getting easier. How difficult is the installation? Or a better way to ask might be approximately how long did it take to...
I would start by unhooking fuel lines from the filters to check fuel flow to them. As stated before those are large canisters to fill up so it can take a minute. Especially if you are filling the primary then secondary fuel filters. The primary is a royal you know what to change. Which is why...
I have one better. My truck had trucklite omnivolts all the way around when I purchased it. All but one had failed. What could have caused this? And as asked before can anything be done for them or are they toast?
Installed a set of LED headlights on my truck about 2 weeks ago. Speaking of which I need to thank ZiggyO for selling them at a great price. Anyways I need to adjust mine a bit but so far I love them. Much brighter than old sealed beams. If the top half of the lights come on while on low...
I remember seeing that fire truck at the static displays on Barksdale. That thing was here for probably 10 to 15 years. I am not sure who bought it or where it went but I did see it listed on GL. It was in pretty rough shape. Again it was a static display outdoors at the aircraft museum on...
Spare cv boots would be a must have item. Along with spare clamps for the boots. Also get a few extra dash and taillight bulbs. Since they are 24v they can be hard to find locally.
Another thing to check is the orientation of the clamp heads. They should be on top of the axle. Make sure the steering arm isn't grabbing and pulling them off.
First thing to do is to pull the rubber boot back on the master cylinder and see if fluid is there. If there is then the master needs to be rebuilt/replaced. If it is dry behind the boot then refill it and bleed it at the airpack. Then go to the farthest away wheel which would be the rear...
