It sounds fun to me too I am not sure that I will still be assigned to the East Coast then but if I am I know my sons would like to come to. Most likely the duece and M1009.
You might have to go through a Peruvian version of the EUC Ai Caramba! lol... It would remind me of my 1879 Remington Rolling block that came back from South America in 43 Spanish. It is always nice to let our emmisaries come home.
The TM says that they can be loaded to carry 36,000 pounds and that looks very doable in what I see in my trailer. The frame rails are heavy and deep I beams and the axles are big and well placed. The really neat thing about them too is the sideboards are a beautiful old mahogany wood that...
The great thing that I see in this is that we are blessed to live in America where two guys give that much to support our Veterans that have been wounded. The Remax guy is a Viet Nam vet and that flys in the face of those who say Viet Nam vets are messed up.
The Fisher houses are a real...
The free VIN checks on line will show you that it is a military truck with no records available. My insurance USAA had no problems with it and when my son got rear ended GIECO only had a little trouble evaluating it due to the military bumper.
I seriously doubt these will show up for a while they were EUC items and we all know how long that can take. I hope to find another source for them because I know so many of us want one. I will keep my eyes out for them. Funny thing is there were so many waiting rebuild in Iraq and Kuwait I...
My Son drives the 85 M 1009 everyday and we are having an issue like this one in that the front battery was not charging and the voltmeter was in the yellow range. I pulled the drivers side alternator and had it rebuilt still no charging and I was getting frustrated. I have a big charger on...
Nick:
Is the mule turning non concentric circles because it is not all the way to the one side of the steering or is that the nature of the steering geometry?
I have been to Rousch Creek several time and there are trails we would fit on but many we would have to bypass they are a super suportive site and camping there is half the fun
Is there a military railroad club we could partner with? I have done lots of rail car loading of armor and trucks and it would make getting to a rally a real breeze. Short of that the radius mentioned above is about my limit in regards to time and diesel fuel. Perhaps we can make the map a...
Emando22:
We do not judge you we commend you in the effort you put out to get one of the best trucks for sale in the GL auction. I also want to take this time to commend your outstanding support of the Soldiers and Marines out on the battle field. Your company provides us with an edge over the...
RE: Re: RE: Outbid by $10,000
If we look at the government cost for a duece and take it to todays dollars a new truck like that is worth every penny of the price. I know we have been getting them for much less but it is what makes America great for all if I cant afford a Cadillac I can look...
Lost by a more aggressive bidder
I agree that we put in reasonable bids and lost to someone with deeper pockets than we have. It is something we must live with in the world of online auctions. If I did not have four children and two dogs to feed it might have gone differently. I am sorry if...
Nick, great shot of the mule doing PT. Mounting a remote contol using a 49Mhz radio to control the throttle would be cool you could gradually speed it up or slow it down. loved the video nice mule
Chris:
Thanks I called them and they are sending me the tire TM I will try to post it to the site they say replace tires at first sign of cracking something I have not done
With trucks the age of our fleets how do we know that they were made in the 90's versus 80's 70's or 60's ? I just think the one digit date is hard to tell I think dry rot is the best way to tell and should be a sign to start saving for new tires and not to overload the ones with the cracks. I...
RE: Blake
Thanks I am now thinking my son ran the truck out of fuel since it is not starting at all now and I am going to have to fix that in the morning. The funny thing is the truck has the round connectors that is why I put in the plugs I did and not the spade ones I was prepared to install
