    Oil leak from tach sender

I had a somewhat annoying 'high speed leak' in that area that went away once I figured out my engine had too much oil in it by what would have been one mark (2 quarts?) on the stick, and I drained some out. maybe the oil in your drained into the area and got spewed out?

    went to a mud fest

There's a place near me, "brushy creek motor farm" with a few pits. Always a lifted 4x4 civvy truck out there slugging it through the mud. It's be interesting to do kile you with an MV, unfortunately I wouldn't chance it with the 6000LB shelter on the back of my deuce. Sort of why i'm looking...

Question please: Are M35 wheels "hub-piloted" or "stud piloted"? I assume stud, but? hub: http://www.accuridewheels.com/steeldisc_hub.asp stud: http://www.accuridewheels.com/steeldisc_stud.asp

    Amp meter connections?

There is the alternative of a shunt type meter for measuring high currents. The shunt takes the place of the meter movement and is mounted in a location convenient to the high-amperage wiring, and then a pair of relatively small wires runs to the meter itself which is commonly designed to read...

convert that old 12V battery charger to 24V

I did this over the weekend. For the 12/24V switch, I used a big knife switch, since I did not have a more 'normal' 25 amp switch laying around. It cost me about $3 for the rectifier and I suppose a SPDT switch for 25A would run about $5. I try to explain how the charger's component parts work...

    Amp meter connections?

The M35 all have voltmeters. An ammeter would be a good addition for those adding electronics to the deuce in order to monitor the loads on the system. Or two -one for battery charge/discharge and one for alternator output. Guage-mongers take note! Too bad there is only so much space in the...

    tire sizes

the BIG RIG tires on the front of my deuce are a throwback, 20" size, and it is true, I cannot detect any real wear after 4500 miles. I'll start calling the salvage yards again (unfortunately there are >100 !! ) and also maybe try to find out who does UPS tire work. They use skinny rims for...

Wallew, where did you get the 6-lug tubeless rims? I been looking, but other than seeng some on an armored car, I can't find any out there. In this thread already mentioned: http://www.steelsoldiers.com/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=8243&highlight= he put some 46" tires on, giving...

    XM757 steering

hey maybe.. could be ready in time for MVPA convention... A huge drive though.. maybe a crazy idea. But I really like the truck and I hope everything frees up like that. There should be some big rubber industrial "O" rongs that could be used as seals.

    tire sizes

Thinking about singling out and putting 14.00x20's on the deuce, but will they fit the rims and not rub each other in the tandems? Has anyone done this successfully and reliably before? I have this crude chart, probably full of mistakes, no laughing.. / just want to let the engine run a...

    5 ton singles

This brings up a point: In the M817 I looked at, the dataplate speed was 50 maximum, and the manual says 2100RPM on the engine. So given the same tires, which 5-ton is faster, the multifuel or the cummins? Or is there more to it? I'm sort of looking for a no-restore beater 5-ton to bob and...

RE: Re: RE: Pics of my singled 5-ton with 16-20 That's quite impressive! What is the road speed vs RPM like with the big tires?
