Anyone think of doing this with their M35's and CUCVs?

If the pure veggie oil were cheaper per BTU than diesel, it would be great, but I think it's more costly. I'm all for using renewable resources but we should get away from corn for oil if we can and use maybe sugar cane because it makes more oil. There's alot of politics involved in that. About...

    M35 PULLING A SEMI TRAILER

Hey Recovry that trailer with the generators looks really sweet on the back of the deuce.

    Gauges

The places should be there in the dash, maybe it could be done so you use the civvy guages and senders for temp, oil pressure, voltage on the low side, and use the 12V to run those. you could use another 12V guage to monitor the high side 12V, so that way you could check the alternators...

    Trip to Shirleys Surplus...

Cool! Ok I suppose Shirley want stoo much, but someone must be buying them, or perhaps he has no pressure at all to sell anything. Is that a WWII German marking on the 5-ton's air cleaner at the other location?

New to the world of the Deuce

The 5MPH is worth it, at least the slight reduction of RPM at 55 is a good thing too.

15.5's wow what a difference W/10" rim build

Those pictures and drawings are amazing. It's all coming down to time and material, as far as people saying they want to do something, and actually doing it or not. I need some money so i can do these things: 1. buy that bobbed deuce and a towbar to drag it home (or, just drive it if i am that...

    Inverter Help.

OK, so you did ask.. Executive summary: Warning: The buy it now price is too high. Bid carefully. Perhaps $150 would be a good deal cosidering it is surplus and not really new. warning: A high probability exists that it is not every last thing that is claimed to be, but rather, a basic...

    Oshkosh Chassis on Ebay

It might make a nice trailer for someone with a 10-ton, since the wheels seem to be there.

    what was your closest call?

On FTX, sleeping in the barracks. One Troop, a PVT, had ridden with me to the training. After being woke up several times during the night (I thought I was just waking up by myself) I had got no sleep. Seems unbeknownst to me the Troop had thought I was snoring too loud and kept getting up and...

    400 hz

Be careful with old-skool flourescents, monitor the temperature of the ballasts. The electronic balasts may be ok but the inductive ones can be problematic since they have a certain impedance and reactance depending on the power line frequency. The inductance in series with the lamp is to limit...

    Problem with deuce batteries

I also put civvy batteries in. To make up the space, I laid some PVC pipe in the bottom of the box to make up the right and left space and keep terminals from touching the metal box. been just fine! Have not had an issue front to back movement but probably should deal with it, and I apologize...

15.5's wow what a difference W/10" rim build

Wow! that is beautiful, and I understand.. perhaps a word about tire speeds and tire models.. Being kind of a fun loving driver, and knowing that a 46.6" tire should give the user 68MPH vs the 55MPH of the 9.00x20 (or let the engine purr at 2100RPM for 55MPH), I have been looking up tires...

15.5's wow what a difference W/10" rim build

Grossepapa used to put some water in the tubes on the 3 ton farm truck. Of course he ran the most awful tires till they were mismatched, patched, and worn out. About the rims, how about removing the center, widening the rim, then putting the center back in an appropriate position for correct...

The longbed is the way to go.. you could even put a quiet diesel set and spare tire with small crane/hiost in front of the shelter and have a shorter balcony..
